| The first time you bought clothes for yourself Kyo: I think it must have been either a pair of trousers or a T-shirt. This was non-band related clothes, just everyday clothes. ++++ Toshiya: When I was in Chuugaku (secondary school), the time when you start to become aware of your looks (laugh). Even though I lived in the country-side, there was a shop you had to buy from in order to look cool. There I bought some really pathetic looking clothes which made me look like a country-side bad boy! (laugh) [How about accessories?] Toshiya: It was only when I started bands. I think it was probably a necklace with a cross on it. It was being sold on the street for 1000yen when I was in koukou. [They sell it in the streets even in Nagano??] Toshiya: Yes of course!! Don't make fun!(laugh) ++++ Shinya: The first accessories and clothes I bought were for a concert. I bought them in a jrock shop in Kyoto. [What kind of clothes/accessories did you buy?] Shinya: Something which had black frilly things attached to it (laugh). I think the bottom half looked a bit like flarey trousers. As for accessories, I bought a 300yen choker with a cross. The first time you put on make-up. Kyo: When I was 16. At that time, I was a 'lo-di' (Hinachan: helper maybe??) of a band. There was a 'session' in an event where I was the vocal of the band with all the 'lo-dies'. That was the first time, I put on make-up. I watched other people put their make-up on and looked at various musicians photographs. So I observed quite a bit. If I remember correctly, I didn't just stick to one person's make-up I gathered up different bits eg 'this person's eyebrows are nice'. In the past, I liked Hide-san's make-up. At that time, make-up wasn't popular but if you now look at the leaflets of my previous bands, they don't look too bad. It looks like I was quite good at putting make-up on from the past. ++++ Kaoru: In public? [Not in public too (laugh)] Kaoru: Not in public, I practiced putting make-up on at home (laugh). I think it was before a school gig that I went to my mother's make-up cabinet secretly (laugh). [Did it look good?] Kaoru: I thought to myself that it looked okay and I was quite satisfied at how it looked then. But now looking back, it's like 'What the heck?'. ++++ Die: When I was in kou 2 (4th year of secondary school). I was to stand on stage for the first time at a school's gathering and I had a strong impression that when you're in a band, your have to put on make-up. This was because the other seniors who were also going on stage wore make-up. Then about 2 months after that I put make-up on for a live my band was going to do. However I had no idea how to put on make-up so I brought some lipstick and eye shadow from home and just painted myself! (laugh) ++++ [Probably when you did a live?] Toshiya: Nope. [What? You had instincts to dress up like women?] Toshiya: No (laugh)!! I really wanted to be in a band but I couldn't play an instrument. So I thought I would start off by looking at music magazines and doing the make-up. I think I bought a magazine with Hide-san and Tusk-san on the cover. I was deeply drawn to Tusk's devilish make-up (laugh). So I sat at my mother's make-up desk and put some make-up on but it wasn't at all good. (laugh) I just looked like a panda (laugh). ++++ Shinya: It was when I was in Chuugacku 3 nen in a live. But before the live, my mother taught me how to put it on and so I did have practice at home (laugh). [Your mother was very helpful] Shinya: Yes, she was heplful. [The first time you put on make-up. You were amazed at the beauty?] Shinya: No (laugh). That didn't happen. My friends were putting make-up on and so instead of my make-up, it was funny to look at my friend's faces. |
