Doctor Death, in the early ages,
doctors had to study dead bodies to learn their trade. However this was
sometimes a problem, because refrigeration did not exist. So some doctors paid
people to dig up bodies secretly from new graves, as corpses didn’t stay fresh
for long.

Evil Eye. Many of the Greeks,
Egyptians and Romans believed in bad evil forces, some people were even said to
have the evil eye. The evil eye was thought to be used against people who were
rich or happy.

Frankenstein. This monster became the
inspiration of a lot of horror films. The beastly baron being portrayed as a
bizarre scientist, who beavers away in his laboratory. His brilliant mind plots
to recreate life.

Goblins. They have become so rare that
most people are only acquainted with them through stories and poems. They live
in the most deserted areas, and the old way of life.

Hypnosis. It was known that under
hypnosis, wounds to the body could be produced entirely by using the mind. Now
doctors are working on a way to speed up the healing process using the power of
the mind.

Incubi. Night-elves. They appear in
the dark and are shape-changers. They cause bad dreams.

Jersey Devil. A hideous giant like
bird was seen in the state of New Jersey. It has long slender neck that it held
outstretched in flight, two pairs of legs (The front pair was shorter than the
hind pair) and two long thin wings. Strangest of all, however, was its head,
which resembled a Ram’s, because it bore a pair of curled horns. As it flew it
uttered a bloodcurdling cry.

Killers. It is estimated by
criminologist that some 50 serial killers are at large in the UK at any given
time.

Loch Ness. This monster of Scotland
has been seen by only a handful of reporters. Evidence consists of underwater
sonar/photographic recordings. These have been obtained by several scientific
terms over the years.

Mystery cats. In Exmore and Bedford
local people reported sightings of a Black Panther cat in the area.

Nostradamus. Supporters are convinced
that he has accurately predicted many significant events in Europe and
elsewhere. Example Hitler’s invasion of Poland. The recent civil war in
Yugoslavia.

On Deaths Touch. In Breamore house
hangs the painting of a woman who lived many years ago in the 1500s. It is said
that no human may touch the painting, or they will die that very day. That
painting has hung untouched, fading and undusted for nearly 400 years.

Poltergeist. Like so many strange
phenomena, there often seems to be a young girl at the center of poltergeist
outbreaks.

Queer Bequest. The mistress of a
French novelist Eugene Sue died, willing him to use her skin to bind a book, of
which he did.

Evil Roots. Sorcerers known as
Kattadiyas are thought to have the power to cast fatal spells or to exorcise the
demons that bring death. In America root medicine given by its practitioners
claim they can hex their enemies to death simply by planting a bag containing
the root of a magic plant near the victim’s house.

Spontaneous Human Combustion. Bodies
suddenly and unexpectedly burst into flames. The heat produced is said to be
more than 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, more than twenty times the normal heat ones
body generates.

Monstrous Tree. The Venus flytrap an
extraordinary plant that could actually capture and consume insects.

UFO. UFO enthusiasts believe that
creatures are constantly visiting the earth from outer space.

Vampires. Psychopathic killers with an
insane craving for blood, lurid tails of real blood-drinking Vampire bats. The
Vampire myth is a complex concept that has evolved from many different sources.

Werewolves. In the dark ages much of
Europe’s population lived in very real fear of Werewolves, humans who could
transform themselves into wolves.

X-Files. There are many files, which
remain unexplained, whether it is attaining justice or just scaring us. Here, it
is we who must determine the facts.

Yeti. The Yeti a popular image that
everyone has heard of. A large shaggy man-beast. Briefly sighted, as it strides
across the snow mountain landscape, leaving behind giant footprints for
Zoologists to unravel.
Z-
Zombies. Staring, unblinking eyes,
filthy face, matted hair and a mechanical action is how we might all see a
Zombie. The living dead.
