Why does Genesis, and the Garden of Eden, have so much relevance, today?  I believe these characters "set the stage" for the rest of our political and religious world. There was a prophecy about the descendents of the serpent (via Cain) and the descendents of Eve (via Adam).  These descendents, among other influences, and the knowledge and influences which originated in these ancient times, still remain with us, today. The origins often "set the stage" for what happens later on, in the world. What are your thoughts?
