Li is a tranfer student from Hong Kong. He has come to Readington because he felt that the Clow cards has been released, and being a descendent of Clow Reed himself, he feels that he should be the one to catch them all and use them himself. At first he feels that Sakura is a newbie and doesn't know how to handle the cards, and that's the reason he got off the wrong foot with Tori, but then he and Sakura become friends, and Li even helps her out.

Meilin is a transfer student from Hong Kong as well, but her reason to come to Readington wasn't mainly because of the Clow cards, it's mainly because of Li! Meilin is Li's fiancee, and she wants to help him as much as she can, even though Li might not want her help. She doens't have any magical powers, unlike Li and his family (or from the real version, unlike the rest of her own family). She eventually goes back to Hong Kong.

I really don't know much about her. All I know is that she's Li's mom and she only appeared in one of the movies. She lives in Hong Kong, and she, like Li, uses eastern magic. They are direct descentents of Clow Reed, so it's no surprise that they know magic. She looks really strict, and seems like she wants to be treated like a queen (or already is).
