my mask firmly in place
never letting people too close
afraid they'd see my face.
Then you walked into my life
you looked into my soul
the answer to the prayers
I'd never prayed before.
Was it something that I've done
a reward for those I've helped
that made God smile upon me
and give me love I've never felt.
Or did God see I was so lost
and have pity on my soul
send an angel to guide me
and keep me from the cold.
Had I looked for love so long
He just couldn't wait no more
and brought us quickly together
a love straight from heaven's door.
I'll probably never know the answer
all I know is suddenly all my dreams came true.
