for : Shasta.....and the London victims of terrorism.
A dark man with a heart of rage
takes a stop along an interstate
sees some kids playin' in the yard
decides he wants them, couldn't be too hard.
Then three bodies lay forever gone.
Two little kids, searched for by everyone.
A lonely cry on a mountain top
a little girl whose dreams won't stop.
A father holds his daughter tight,
thankin' God she's gonna be alright.
And somewhere up beyond the skies,
God is watching - and today He cries.
A pretty lady on a big red bus
going to work like the rest of us.
A huge blast knocks her off her feet
fire and smoke; terror and screams.
The old man laying on the floor
didn't make it, he's not breathing anymore.
A fireman pulls her out to the street,
and neither will forget what they've seen.
A country grieves, the world stands by their side.
All resolve they won't go down without a fight.
And somewhere up beyond the skies,
God is watching - and today He cries.
A child dies,
a parent cries,
a plane goes down,
another body found,
millions dead from HIV,
little kids going hungry....
And somewhere up beyond the skies,
God is watching - and today He cries |
