| One evening upon a lovely beach
A young girl strolled along The sunset warm upon her face Her heart was filled with song. From time to time she�d pause As she walked thru lapping waves To pick up some whimsical sea shell Some she dropped and some she saved. The sky began to darken And the wind began to blow She heard the thunder rolling And knew that she should go. But, something in the crackling air Urged her heart to stay Fat drops of rain came tumbling down Lightning flashed as bright as day. The wind was howling louder Blowing sand against her skin Like a million tiny daggers Trying to dig in. The sea was getting angry And the waves began to crash Then something caught her eye In the next bright lightning flash. What was that there before her Lying in the sand She struggled to get closer, And then gasped, it was a man. She fell to her knees beside him The shells, forgotten, fell to the sand. �are you ok, why are you here?� She screamed as she grabbed his hand. Suddenly he sat up A grin upon his face And then she recognized him She�d seen him every day. �It�s a beautiful night,� he shouted Above the raging storm �And I wanted to share it with you I know this isn�t the norm.� �You see, I�ve hoped you�d see me I�ve watched you every day But you always just walked by And never looked my way.� �I recognized you right away� She said with a voice of awe �But, until I found you in the storm, I guess I never really saw.� Hand and hand they walked A new friendship had been born. Two hearts brought near forever By the fury of a storm. |
