Journal Log: 5-7-05

Also here is a shorthand version of the encounter we had last week. The following are new party members.

The evening starts out with us having a joyous time eating in the inn, suddenly #1 mentions for the bard to join Chocupeck. We are considered even with the gobo. He informs us the Naga have possibly put out a hit on us.

 

The party confesses and the outcome is going to see Nissa about the contract. Nissa informs us that a certain necromancer has put the hit on us. An associate of Sarzak came to put the hit on us. Nissa will take care of the boat for us. She passes the word on to others for the party that they will be out of contact for a bit. We pick up Lucas, Ooggley, and Devon. Afterwards, we proceeded to the Baron’s that night.

 

The city is covered by the Mythal. The Baron comes to welcome us. Interesting conversation ensures resulting with us sleeping some where in the palace. Today E’Ze gets knighted. The Baron asks us to deal with a Troll mercenary band up north since we are going on a trip to see the Duke. 25xp gets awarded to Croaker. The trolls have been hitting caravans in the Downs area. The Baron informs us we are welcome to come back when we want to. At noon E’Ze was knighted.

 

After stocking up on supplies we head out. After a few days we feel like we are being stalked. We find some tracks. A couple of the party members wander off and find a Owlbear to dance with. Rain and Ooggley are engaged, although Ooggley doesn’t seem to be alarmed by the attacking Owlbears. Finally, the rest of the crew arrives and dispatches the two Owlbears.

 

An air of uneasiness falls over the party. Several Fairies have been found missing their wings ripped off, as if they have been harvested. Later that evening an elf hunting party crosses our path. The leader called Woodshadow tells us that a corrupt evil Treant priest is about the woods. A group of Grimlocks has been sighted one day to the west.

 

Later, down the road we come across a whole village that has been freeze dried, frozen solid as a rock. The spell casters feel uneasy, as if the magic in the area had been twisted. A week later we traveled to a walled city. The guards allow a few of the party inside weaponless. Chancellor Windhaller is going to donate, next year 200pp to the brotherhood of the scales!

 

Most of the party makes camp for that evening outside the city. Beaver hunting ensues and the next day the morning we head the trolls encamped in some caves even though the last adventuring party never returned. A couple of the members try and sneak up and get the spotting troll on top of the hill above the cave. Two of the characters battle at the top of the hill, Down below, inside of the hill, the cave contains a bunch of trolls (6) and one spell caster. Nedless to say the battle does not go as expected. During the battle E'Z almost kills the party’s hireling. Further, Ooggley goes down, but he is not killed. It was a good thing since he was in a berserker rage.
