Journal Log: 7-30-05
Mother;
I am unable to continue sending you letters. Until we get back to our lands all I can do is write these letters in hope that someday I will be able to get them to you. I apologize, our life has been getting complex.
We were still in the caverns (Archi, Rain, and myself). Archi was hungry so he took one of the orcs and gutted him, rubbed salt all over him and then proceeded to eat him. Even Rain partook in this barbaric act. I couldn't handle it I ended, it was so not lady like, yuck. The neogi was rather pleased though, although I will probably have to kill him later. That is about when the rest of the party came back through the teleport gate.
They talked to us about a pixie, whom we call 'Stix', because she refuses to tell us her name. Stix offers us a way to get out, but we would have to get her some type of amulet that she could use to get herself out. It was a difficult decision, but I can't leave my comrades and friends behind no matter how barbaric they behave. I agreed, but the rest of the party had a very difficult time deciding on what to do. They are always like that, thinking too much instead of just acting.
We went back to sign the contract, the gnome/wizard signed the contract in behalf of the group. Typical of the party they never trust my decisions and as always the druid and bard lead the charge. It seems that the wizard and cleric could go either direction, but for now the party continues to head in the direction we need them to, so we can prevent the this huge tragedy. It is doubtful that this party will know what is going on until it is too late. It seems the neogi did not like the 'Stix'. During his pleading and begging he slipped me a note, I attempted to read the not, but I was unable. It only contained a single word. I have my suspicions of 'Stix' I even told the party, but nobody believes me.
Finally, 'Stix' opens a portal that sends us to a 'different thought'. It was being sunk in a sticky muck and drowning, but thankfully we didn't drown and we found ourselves in a wheat field. It seems Archi has an allergy to wheat. That is when we were saw the halfling lizard riders. They rapidly approached us and then circled around us. They practically dared us to attack, but we attempted to greet them with open arms especially the ranger. It was good that we did for they were friendly. Wild, barbaric, but savage they were not. Actually, Archi is probably more savage than them. They took us back to their city, a five day trip.
During those five days we began to learn about their customs, language, and beliefs. After we arrived to talked to their chieftain and shaman. We found out we were no longer on our world. We were on a world called Eberron. A world divided into five nations. We found out that the location we were looking for was past a place called Tellentia plains of Corvair, back were to a land surrounded in mist that was destroyed during their last great war.
We gathered supplies and headed back. Strange their halfling use giant lizards (a triceratops) for pack animals and mounts (raptors). The journey back was uneventful. Finally, we entered the mist and we found a deserted city. Many of the people died were they were standing. Whatever killed them happened quickly and without warning. We came across a church and went into investigate. There we encountered a warforged. Theses warforged are sentient machines created during their last great war, but the technology to create them was lost during that war. Lucky for us 'she' was there to research and 'she' was not hostile.
Tarlia was a lucky find for us, she was a valuable source of information. Talia unfortunately was unable to give us the stone for she had given it to different band of adventurers prior to us. I believe that 'Stix' has already sent a previous party (evil) to get the amulets and we are on their tails, unfortunately I don't believe that 'Stix' sent good people to get it. We will have a big fight on our hands. That evening the ghosts came out, thousands of them. Lucky for us Talia new a type of arcane spell that kept them out.
Talia gave us a heads up on the use of something they call 'lighting rails'. They actually harness the power of lightning (electricity) to move large carriages across immensely expanding things called rails. We took the lighting rails as far as we could, it derailed. Then we continued on foot. Then a large hobgoblin approached us out of the bushes and surrounded our party with a number of hobgoblins and strange apes, horrid apes. He apologized for is approach, but he was after a different party that escaped them so he asked us to go with him in place of the escaped party. He preferred dead, but was willing to take us alive if we surrendered to him. I was attempting to negotiate a peaceful exchange when the stupid, dumb, over energetic druid cast a chill metal on the bugbear.
I attempted a last ditch effort of offering the bugbear his life in exchange for our release, but he never got a chance to answer, Archi smashed him, hurt badly, but not dead. Needless to say we had no choice but to continue our desperate fight. I had a horrid ape and a hobgoblin on me in a flash. Archi and Rain were faced with two hobgoblins and a horrid ape that leapt at Archi. He had to drop his club just to hold the horrid ape at arms length. The wizard magic misled the hobglin Archi hurt and killed him. The cleric was casting a spell that helped our combat capabilities. The rogue was attacked by a horrid ape. The bard was attacked by hobgoblins, and the druid was attacked by a horrid ape. She summoned a bunch of dire badgers to fight the horrid apes.
I stepped up and cut down the horrid ape, stepped up and cut down a hobgoblin, and stepped up again to cut down another hobgoblin. Rain continued to attack the horrid ape in Archi's arms and managed to stab him. Finally, Archi was able to throw the horrid ape off of him and he managed to hit a hobgoblin. Rain split off to help out the bard who was corned, she leapt at the horrid ape stabbing it with both of her knives and killing it, she almost landed on her face. I stepped up and killed another hobgoblin. I heard thunder, probably from the druid lighting some goblins. Archi stepped up and killed the horrid ape, a bit of revenge I believe.
I was on a foot chase for the last surviving hobgoblin, but I was unable to catch him, damn human armor way too slow. So I summoned a wolf to catch him and slow him down. Then I finally, struck him down. It certainly left me winded. I sure do miss Lancelot. It has been too long without him. I don't even know if he will like me anymore, especially since I have left him for so long. He expressed some concern over my desire to help this party he even told me it would be the death of me to trust them, any of them. Needless to say I miss him, a lot.
We we now have to take care of our wounded and take care of the bodies. Lucky for us there were no survivors to tell of our tale. I miss everyone so much. I can't wait to actually be able to come home and spend some time with a real home cooked meal.
Love,
E'Ze
