E'Ze's Diary:

This very well could be my last journal entry. I do not know how well the next battle to go. this island somehow feels cursed. I keep on getting the feeling like it is all about to end, a certain gloom on the horizon. After this I am going to go home and enjoy the the mountains, open fields, and clear lakes, and bright lush forests I call home. It has been too long. It is time to go home.

Today we went to the citadel/temple. There we did battle with evil itself. The underground cavern entrance revealed drow like subterranean complex like structure, filled with wraiths. We battle the wraiths and nearly lost, but we managed to finally destroy them. Luckily we came prepared with ghost touch arrows. Without them it would have been a different fight. Beaten and battered we healed ourselves, but at what cost. We depleted so much of our resources on a mere diversion.

Yes, they were but a diversion. The real threat was salaadi who were digging for something and attempting to unearth a Pit Fiend. Oro and Greggor tell me that these outsiders come from different realms. Some demons, devils, and the salaadi all from different realms. It appears that they don't even have many of the 'tainted' signs, but they seem even more 'evil'.

We attempted to negotiate a treaty with the salaadi, but no deal. We did however find out that by killing them we break their contracts with those who bound them to this reality. It was an intense and insanely crazy battle. Rain moved forward to 'bluff' the salaadi, but instead the blue salaadi attacked her. She fought bravely, but she was continuously being attacke by both the blue salaadi and the gray salaadi who was casting lightning bolts at her.  At one point she was hurt badly, but she somehow manage to avert being killed by a lightning bolt. Then she ran around.

Meanwhile the druid, Oro, and myself were battling two red salaadi and more were moving up on our position. The druid shape changed into a bear and engaged in combat wit it. I started fight the other one. Somehow it grabbed me and knocked me down. I was on the floor grappling with one red salaadi and another came up and started biting me. It was a horrible place to be. Another one moved forward and attacked Oro who was buffing the druid and casting scorching ray at the one red salaadi who was attacking the bard and the others who moved in on the rogue. The wizard retreated to the other side of the cavern, thus leaving the druid with two and myself with two. The rogue moved around to start firing at the gray salaadi who was not attacking me and the druid with spells. It was bad.

Finally, Oro killed the one who biting me and the bard killed the one on him. I got up and was between the blue salaadi and the red salaadi. Oro concentrated his fire on the blue salaadi while I went to town with a flurry of blows that may have even made Rain envious. We managed to send him back to the place they call 'the abyss'. He seemed pleased. Oro continued with his 'wand fu' and managed to kill off more red salaadi. He certainly proved his worth in this battle.

Greggor really put his neck on the line attempting to heal the druid and myself. I owe him one. We were about to regroup, but the druid charged the gray salaadi, and she grappled him to the ground. Unfortunately, the gray salaadi had a stun spell and left her shaken. With Rain hurt, the bard hurt, and the rogue out of position I had little choice. I charged and in a short flurry of blows cut him down. The rogue was ticked, because I blocked his shot, but  it was necessary to save the druid. I doubt that the  rogue could have taken it down in a single shot.

Well we need to finish our healing and search the premises, so I need to get back to work. I love you all.

Sincerely Yours,

E'Ze
