Dear Diary:

Wow, it seems like an eternity, but only mere moments ago we left the safety of the Rope Trick and entered a long room with a shallow pool of water donw the middle. Fortunately, there was a narrow ledge along the left side. Unfortunately, bugbears filled the room on the other end with a captive bound and nude woman which they quickly tossed into the pool of water. the rest of the bugbears attacked. Without a moment of thought Gregor ran off to attempt to rescue the the fair maiden. Unknown to us a poisonous octopus was in the pool waiting to be fed, but the dwarf intercepted and dove right into the pool and attacked it. Gregor soon found himself out number and surrounded. So I warned him and 'fire in the hole', but he was too busy to get out of the area of effect. He did however managed to get the girl out with his ring of jumping.

That freed him up a bit, but the one by the gong continued to fire it's crossbow at him. The girl was shot and dying in the pool, so Bob ran through the bugbears and dove into the water. Moments later he revived the girl after rooming the bolt. Unfortunately, Bob, Gregor, and the girl were outnumbered by more bugbears who entered the water and were attacking them. Raven water outnumbered and the dwarf was dying in the water after being poisoned. Herbert dove in to rescue him. I had to help so I carefully placed a second fireball in the middle, but Bob was hurt badly from it. It did however turn the tide of the battle. I did however note that the bugbears were hasted by some caster, were the caster was is unknown. That does however suggest an improved invisibility spells and haste was used by an arcane spell caster.

Afterwards, Gregor was trying to impress the girl he said "As soon as we kill a chick we will get you some clothes." Wow, what can we say I just gave up my spare set of clothes I keep. She was grateful and appreciative especially towards Bob (although I thought for sure his appearance would have made her scared, but being down here and almost being fed to a poisonous octopus must have give her a different perspective."

She continued with us when we came to a room with a gas leak, with exploded when the gas reached our torches. Most of the party was severely wounded from the explosion. When we entered the room it had two animated stone statues which attacked. The statues were pretty resistant to damage and fire, but magic missiles and severe wounds seemed to affect it appreciatively. We managed to split their attacks amongst ourselves, but we were all hurt pretty badly. Gregor was particularly hurt badly, we thought him dead, until the end of the battle when Bob was giving him his last rights, when he managed to breath in his first breath of new life! It cost him everything (all his fate points), but gods shined down on him and gave him a new leash on life.

Kill them, Kill them ALL!
