When Giants Clash

by Trenton

Opening Scene

Tristy finally gets home after an exhausting training session with Mr. K. She drops her books on the floor and plops onto the bed. Immediately a vision flashes in her mind. She travels from her home to town then centering in on a manhole she goes strait through into the sewers of Pleasantville. She felt herself floating in the man sized drainage pipes she suddenly comes to a gathering pool with two familiar faces sitting upon a mound of garbage, its Gabby and Estavon. They seem to have come together to do nothing but complain. First Gabby complains on how her gang was totally wiped out and she wished she could have hundreds of flunkies at her command. Estavon on the other hand states the difference between movie vamps and him. He brings up points on how he can’t fly or have other cool powers. Without warning at the top of the garbage heap a figure appears and says “Your wish is granted.” Tristy snaps back into her body thinking to herself that this can’t possibly be a good thing.

Act1

Our Scooby gang is in the newly built school talking to each other when over the intercom comes an announcement that there is going to be a pep rally after first block. Needless to say the group congregates in Mr. K’s room to see what he is going to do. Against all of their wishes Mr. K. is going to the rally even after Glen brings up what happened that one fateful day, but he will not be dissuaded. So they all head off taking their usual spot in the top right hand corner of the bleachers. Well, an hour goes by and all the gang is afraid of is being bored to death by this presentation about gangs and what to watch out for. At this the group begins to pay attention. They say that two gangs have recently moved to Pleasantville from California and seem to be passing through but apparently they have been painting graffiti all over the crypts of the cemetery. Tristy turns to Dante and sarcastically says, “What are the chances that will be running into them sometime soon.” Dante smiles at her. As they show pictures of symbols to look out for and the graffiti they have done.  Glen thinks she spots one that is linked to a Vampire cult but can’t be sure. They file out of the gym afterwards and head to lunch to plan for tonight’s patrol routes.

Act2

The entire group is out in force tonight each spread out tactically placed to approach the cemetery at the end of their route. They gather together and relay their activities. It seems that tonight is a slow night and Hope was the only one to encounter any Vamps and they were just some pushover fresh ones.  Dante then holds up his hand for silence and listens intently. Pointing to a far off crypt he motions the group to follow. Skulking between bushes and trees they get as close as they can without being seen. Surrounding the crypt are at least seven vamps with one supervising spray-painting the side of the crypt. There’s just one thing their all vamps and they have their “game faces” on. Glenn whispers something to the rest of them about how they seem to be painting the sign she saw earlier in the presentation. Dante and Hope have had enough waiting and come barreling out at the gang of vamps. Surprised by their assailants they are unable to put up a good defensive and their defenses are easily penetrated.  Their leader tries to head for the car but Tristy suddenly recognizes her. It’s Gabby. Shouting at Hope and Dante to stop her nobody even sees the second group of vamps come in. Estavon is with them but they don’t seem at all interested in the Scooby members.  Instead the rest of Gabby’s group goes after the new comers. Gabby pulls out a machine gun and tries to shoot down Estavon but only takes out one of his guys. Out numbered Gabby’s gang is demolished. In the chaos of the skirmish Estavon even manages to get a grenade out and hurled it at Gabby by her van. It explodes and this is the cue for our heroes to leave. When they arrive at the car there is a package on the ground addressed to Tristy. Looking around she opens it looking inside she pulls out a finger with her aunt’s wedding band on it. Screaming she tells everyone that she need to get home now. Packing up their things they dive into the Hurst and take off.

Act3

They get to Tristy’s house and the paramedics are already there. She runs to the nearest one but he tells her that she can’t go any further. Holding up the finger she screams at the paramedic to let her through and that he had get out of her way. He lets her through but sends the rest home after questioning them on what had happened. Tristy spends the rest of the night getting the details of the attack from her aunt. It seemed that her invisible stalker was not going to give up. On the plus side they where able to sew her finger on again. Tristy felt a renewed hate for the one who was doing this and vowed again that one day she would kill him in the worst way she could imagine.

Back at school the next day the group is in computer class talking with Mr. K about last nights events. They move to a privet room to look through Mr. K’s library of occult books. Glen figures out that Estavon looked a little bigger than he used to and that that isn’t normal for Vampires to change size after converting into a demon. She also discovers that Estavon is probably hiding out in the old warehouse outside of town, and Gabby is hanging out at the mall. Dante discovers that Gabby’s group stands little chance against Estavon’s vamps because they are a sort of zombie vamp crossbreed. Tristy even manages to come up with a spell that can interfere with Gabby’s mind control over her gang. Mr. K brings up the fact that one of these groups is going to win this territory and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be Gabby.  Just then the phone rings and Dante picks it up. Gabby is on the other line speaking very fast. She tells them that Estavon will be at the mall looking for her and that the group should temporarily join sides. Trying to satisfy his curiosity he inquires why he should help. He then looks down and sees a red dot on his shirt.  Everyone was in agreement that they should take out Estavon first because Gabby was a lesser threat. Dante said that before he was going to do this he needed to see a priest about some holy water. Tristy said that she could also use some time to prepare a spell she had found to protect people.

Act4

We find Dante at the Church looking around for the new priest sent to replace Father Nelson after his unfortunate demise a few months ago. A young man come up to him and introduces himself as the new minister. Dante asks for some holy water but is turned down at every chance because he is not performing a divine ritual (not one he can say). It is obvious that Father Nelson’s replacement has no idea what kind of town he has gotten himself sent to. Out of a back room a nun comes walking up immediately pointing to Dante and calling him by name. Saying that his personal supply of holly water is in the back by Father Nelson’s request he follows her. As soon as he is in she shuts the door and locks it. She then begins to tell him how they where unable to obtain a decent replacement for the late Father. Then it is revealed that she is to help Dante in every way possible including offering a position as Vatican Knight upon him. He accepts and then takes the Holy water and leaves. Bidding ado to the clueless priest he notices that the nun, whose name is Sister Trinity, appears outside the room tending to the altar and candles as well as in the garden out doors. Thinking this is rather strange he chooses not to ask questions and let things be.

Tristy meanwhile with Glen looking wiped out her family spellbook and rummaged through the pages. Finally finding the correct spell she gathers the proper ingredients taking them to the sunroom. Surrounded on all sides by a circle of feathers she begins to chant over and over as she does her voice becomes breathy and more airy. Soon it sounds just like the wind. A small breeze swirls the feathers around her even within the house. They all fly into the air, then at the peak of the chant they speed right at her. They imbed themselves causing deep gashes all along her arms and body. They all fall off except one left over her heart. Taking this one she gets some mugwort and mandrake root to tend her wounds placing the feather in her pocket. Together they leave and head for Dante’s house just as the sun is coming down.

Act5

All of them meet at the mall waiting for a sign of what they should do next. Soon Dante spots Gabby gesturing for them to come to her up at the upper food court. Getting up there they are then lead down a long corridor, Dante keeping a close eye on her the entire time. Eventually they are lead to a back room there spotted sporadically along walls where the broken and battered remnants of Gabby’s forces. Some looked as though they had not had a meal in days and where sick with anemia. Eventually we lost track of her but a television came on and she was there. She offered a temporary truce between her gang and the group. She also added an incentive that she would leave Pleasantville for as long as Dante lived. Pleased with the deal they agreed and went out to wait for Estavon. They didn’t have to wait long before they busted straight through the front door. The frightened shoppers screamed for their lives and ran as fast as they could. This left the setting open for the royal rumble about to take place. First of all Dante positioned himself on a banister overlooking the entrance, while Tristy took up the position of bait on the upper floor catwalk. Glen was right behind Dante as Hope and Derek where going to head straight at them from the elevator. Estavon and his cronies waltzed right in and up to a petrified security guard. The healthy members of Gabby’s gang leapt off the catwalk on the second floor and right in front of Estavon’s guys attacking them starting the whole thing off. Three vamps surrounded the guard while Estavon walked up to him and grabbed, some where also heading up the stairs for Dante, Tristy, and Glen. As fast as they got up there Dante came crashing down on Estavon whipping out a siring filled with holy water. He screamed as it entered his blood stream, this also caused him to stop biting the guard. Meanwhile, Gabby pointed a crossbow from a nice little snipping area and sent it straight to Estavon’s heart. Amazingly enough he does not turn to dust. With the success of their strikes they had to loose somewhere. Sadly it was most of Gabby’s gang, way overmatched and out numbered.  Also the elevator was a bit slower than Hope had expected trapping her and Derek in away from the fight. Glen tried to take out as many vamps as she could as they came up the escalator, but some still got through. Tristy then relied on her feather to do some work. Pulling from her pocket she blew over the surface of it and suddenly she was surrounded by a vortex of air. Vamps would try to penetrate her spell but that proved fruitless as they where repeatedly thrown back and shocked by the power of her magic. Eventually the group got the upper hand and Estavon suddenly realized he wasn’t going to win. With that he dropped the guard, which he had been using as a human shield against Dante’s assault, and headed to the doors. Just as he gets to the rotating door and into it, it stops. Looking up Estavon sees Mr. K and Mrs. K standing in front of the door, saying “Not this time.” He bellows in rage and smashes the glass. From the front he gets a crossbow bolt from Mrs. K and from Gabby in the back both go to the heart and her yells in frustration before he becomes dust. Gabby fit with her deed heads off telling Dante that he will never see her again. At that the sprinklers turn on with the computer hacking skills of Randal only instead of normal water it is holy. Soon the vamps left behind dissolve into nothing.

The group gathers together at Tristy’s house with her aunt home from the hospital. They talk about the recent events and on whether Gabby will keep her word. Tristy then brings up the fact that her stalker is still out there and that he is getting more aggressive, maybe next time he won’ settle for a finger.
