CHARACTER HISTORY
My home, Temple of Osanoko, was hidden away from the outside world. The monks raised me; but I always desired to have a real family, they taught me the Way of the Storm. I wish I was a better student. I was always running away from fights and thinking too much. Life at that temple was not good for me. Between the daily beatings and the extreme physical training, I just didn’t hack it. I wanted to see the outside world. The monks hated satellite TV, but for me it was just the key. The monks blamed the outside world for my laziness. Then one day the elders told me my fate awaited my in the outside world. They were sending me to America, as a foreign exchange student.
I had know idea what I was getting myself into. Everything I knew about America had come from TV. I was excited about cheap Internet connections, easy women, and snowboarding. I did not like the idea of gunmen, biker gangs, and rogue cops. It was going to be a different world than the one I knew.
Things were different in America, but too different. My English was terrible, but I learned quickly. Women in America aren’t as easy as I thought they would be, but not most people don’t even carry guns, and most of the time I can actually cross the street without being hit.
Nobody mentioned to me that the town, Pleasantville, is full of monsters. It started one night when I saw a group of three guys attacking a young innocent girl. The monks told me stories about demons, ghosts, and even vampires, but I never really believed in them. I acted without thinking and just jumped into the mess. I thought I would be ok, but my martial art training never trained me to out maneuver three vamps with superhuman speed and strength. I was nearly killed had it not been for Hope. She arrived out of nowhere like a guardian angle. She has moves that are better than Jet Li’s moves in a movie.
After that incident, I decided to hang around Hope and her friends. I think I might even try to get into sports, if they continue to have school this year. I even started to go out with the Scoobies patrolling at night. The mental exercises the monks taught me even shield my mind from supernatural influences. Someday I will go back and make the monks proud of me. Hmm, I wonder what they mean to ‘fight with honor and courage’.
He has been helping out Derek and Hope. He is still not too sure how he feels about being in America. He gets along with his host parents, Mr. & Mrs. K. He has even become rather found of Hope, although he seems to be jealous of Dante’s fame.

You act first and ask questions later. Research and studying are not your calling card. You prefer to play ‘American’ sports or kick vampire butts.
