"I'm dying..."
As if the whispered words didn't reach my
consciousness I laugh. "What? Is this some kind of joke?"
The waves are whooshing in the background
and the sand is nicely warm but not too hot. We are sitting on the beach, not
another human being in sight and his sun tanned body dressed only in small
white speedos is glistening in the sun. The last thing I feel like doing is
talking and the small mischievous flames dancing in my eyes tell the story of
my need to pounce at him right then and there.
But there is a sad expression on his face
when he shakes his head just a little and lowers his eyes. His long eye lashes
throwing deep shadows on his cheeks, hiding him from me. "No. This is no
joke," he says, his voice so soft I can barely hear him and for the first
time I realize that this is for real.
The expression freezes on my face and for
a moment I can scarcely breathe. I reach out for his hand blindly and squeeze
his fingers in mine. "H...how?" I ask hoarsely.
We are sitting facing each other, holding
hands but in this moment we are worlds apart, two entities lost. "I... I
was getting dizzy lately, queasy. And quite often too. I went to Hitomi...
Doctor Hikaru..." He takes a deep breath and turns his head towards the
ocean, eating away at the sandy land. "She did a lot of tests..."
He falls quiet and for a moment we just
sit there, the gulls crying in the sky. I then lift his hand to my lips and
kiss it the gently to give him the strength to continue. "Tell me..."
Gone is the happy mood. I am talking seriously, behaving like an adult for
once.
He swallows, closing his eyes tightly.
"C...cancer," he whispers.
My breath rushes out of me.
"No...!"
"CUT!"
The serene scene is broken by shouting,
people rushing about, cameras and carts humming.
"That's it for today!" calls out
the director, a small broad man who's sweating way too much. "Thank you,
ladies and gentlemen. I will see you on Monday in the atelier!"
We, Iwaki and I, still sit there as people
are running back and forth around us, some of them offering us clothes or
something to drink. I wave everybody off, knowing that my lover needs to get
himself under control again. This scene was full of deep emotions that cut way
too close to the core of our relationship.
When I see him take a deep breath and
blink his eyes open, I duck my head to look him in the eyes. "Now,
Iwaki-san, the job is over and done with today, isn't it? Isn't it?" An
undertone of eagerness creeps into my voice and he turns to me, eyeing me
suspiciously.
"Yes, it is. Why…?"
Not waiting for him to finish the sentence
I give out a loud, excited whoop and do the one thing I wanted to do since I
saw him step out of the caravan in the small white speedos that hugged his
intimate parts - my treasure - so closely: I pounce.
"Oi! Kat...Kato!" he cries out
with indignation as I bury him in the warm sand and cover his lips with mine.
"Hm! Rftspf!" he protests as I delve deeper into his warm, moist
mouth and he tries to push me away as I ran my hands up his sun browned thighs.
"People!" he barks out as I finally pull away to take a breath.
"There are people around!"
Whistling and catcalls rise above the
crowd of personnel on the beach and they start to clap their hands
enthusiastically at our little show.
I gave Iwaki a boyish grin. "Yup. And
they seem to appreciate it too!"
I lower my head back and before he can cry
out more than, "Wait! Kato!" I claim his mouth once again.
Hm, yummy!
The End
