I am the mystrunner, i am no one, yet someone. I live in solitude, not knowing myself yet knowing what i am. The myst is a wonderful thing, it enshrounds all, distorting till the shape is unrecognizable. "Is it there? or am i just seeing things." What lays within the myst is a mystery, perhaps the word itself is an extesnion of myst. Within mystery lies peace, if no one knows you no one can have problems with you. There in lies the philosophy of the myst.
Time is shrouded in myst, tommorow filled with possibilities, some clear, yet not wholly there. Past becomes present, mankind repets itself, the wheel of time turns and ages come and go. In todays age, more than ever, the myst is ever present. It follows all, although some more than others. Do we really know anyone? is your neighbor a rich old man, or an accomplished hit man, perhaps he is a demon from another world, there only for observation, hidin in a kindly figure whom is easy to trust. Who can we trust, trully we can trust ourselves... can't we? will i do what i tell myself i will do? i WILL exercise, i WILL lose weight. The wheel turns and pounds are gained, is time you ally? or your enemy? Instead of taking the opourtunity as you saw it, you turned time into your enemy, slowly working against you, nothing gained, much lost. Then comes regret, self loathing. "Can't even trust myself, i am a failure in life..."
Within the myst, all is seperate, trust not ye people of humanity, for people always succumb to their innate nature, be it selfishness, or pure goodness, so good trust is blinded by righteousness and enfolded in false truth. Myst distortes, but also pretects. The world may not enter here, leave it behind, all your cares, all your hopes and dreams. In the end there is only yourself, if all is lost, be at peace with at least a small part of yourself. Enshroud your surroundings in myst, let all fade away into the background, all that is clear is yourself. Focus on what you can see, see clearly for the first time. When all is faded, you are there, don't turn away, face youself, your weaknesses, your fears, your center. Because soon enough, the myst must fade, and reality becomes an aspect of life, as bitter as it may seem. Sweet as it may taste. Life is always there, although it may be blocked, it always returns. Remeber though, when your surroundings overwhelm, the myst awaits, run with it, and forget.
The myst includes many different creatures. Most are otherworldly, spoken of in our world, yet their existence never trully confermed. Humanity tends to question what cannot be proven, and deny any and all ideas that do not appeal to their prefect ideals of the world. Creatures that terrify and some that mystify, their ideas have been around for many ages, but always denied behind stacks of logic and religions which do not wish to offend their followers. Were there dragons? why no, of course not, the idea of such a powerful evil creature can only be the ancient renderings of the image of the devil, there for dragons were only another image of the devil, so they must be evil. Next thing all records of anything related to dragons are stricken from the vaults, changed, twisted and molded into a perfect image of evil opposing good, and good must triumph. Are there dragons? of course not.
I speak of dragons because i beleive it very possible for them to be among us, shrouded in myst like so many others. Perhaps they exist on another plain of existence, where is my scientific proof you ask? I reply, get the hell out, if you ask, you belong not with the myst. Minds must be kept open, for when they shut, possibilities are lost, and ideas brushed aside. Don't be blinded. Another creature which we hear so many tales and yet laugh at the possibility of it actuall existing, is the vampire. Why does it fascinate so many? the idea of darkness, and evil lurks in the minds of everyone, don't try and deny it, it's in us all. Vampires are the evil manifested into dark creatures of the night, living forever till slain, taking the lives of those which cross it's path. The power. Eternal torment is a small tprice to pay indead for such a gift, so think some who whatch, and dream, as vampires are brought to life on movies and t.v. Why can't vampires be real? People dissapear all the time, cities have a tendancy to swallow the unwary. Perhaps less blood than we picture, is needed to sustain a true vampire. Perhaps their numbers are small enough to be not noticed by the everyday unobservant city dweller, who cares not for his fellow man. Again, no proof is evedent, but scientific theroies are ever ubundant, no one laughs at them, they are writin by learned men who study the stars and the earth to determine time and events which no living creature has ever seen occure. Let us mock those who dream of such fantastical creatures which surely are made up, for such a thing as magick and creatures of the night are merely made to scare little children, or mystify the mind. The myst hides much and opens your mind, revealing new concepts.
Have you ever trully thought of the existance of creatures such as these, i think not. Serious thoughts toward something which has been pounded into us us as wrong is hard to come by. Church tells us dragons and vampires, anything of the sort is the occult, it is evil, it goes against the teachings of christ, beleive not, explore not, our teachings are true and right and just. They offer you peace and salvation, something wonderful to look forward too, if you are naughty though, you may not receive this wonderous reward. Act good and kind, get along with one another. Stay out of the governments affairs.... We beleive we need not worry about the government overpowering us now, but when was the church started, when kings and lords overpowered the weak, hoping that the peons and grunts that work for them realize not that somthing is amiss, all is well. And if you are good, if you die for a righteous cause, or live out a peaceful life, you get a reward when you die. Whats that? something outside your religeon? Blasphemous, it is obviously some work of the devil, against the true path of life, listen not to the whispers of evil, trying to suck you into the darkness, unending torment, but follow the light, be pure of heart and mind, wash clean your thoughts and put your faith in us, we will guide you.... For those of you who think i myself have found all the answers, you are trully mistaken, life is never trully and fully answered, there are always doudts. But also there is the myst, a safe haven for the weary, for the ones who need a break from reality.
Warlocks and witches, magicians and mages, mystics and sears. So many names, so many different myths, are all based on a false beleif, or do they trully spring from some seed of truth. This thought is also enfolded in myst, my mind ponders what to beleive, and yet the myst still hangs heavy, blurring all 'till nothing is sure. Magick, a means to untold power. Surely the idea appeals to many, games are made on such ideas, who wouldn't want the oppourtunity to explore powers beyond the comprehension of man. Perhaps we too can become gods, in time. Is it real, perhaps it once was, and has been weaded out through society's bigots and unbeleivers. Here i can apply the idea of fear. What people don't understand they fear, "a witch uses powers that are beyond our comprehension, what does it mean, it goes against everything i beleive.. it must be evil, who knows what it is possible of, IT MUST BE STOPPED" From fear comes hatred, hatred of the unknown, jelousy of something beyond comprehension, making us feel insignificant. Many religions beleived in the idea of magick, was it true? who knows, records were burned, spells thrown assid like so much heresy. The practicioners of this craft, destroyed. Perhaps a few who remeber the once ways are still among us. Perhaps the unexplainable which happens to man, has an explanation, an explanation which we still cannot understand. perhaps. If. What if. If only. Nothing in life is sure, except this. We don't have all the answers, we never will. Yet we thirst for it, we follow what suits us, why we do this? Because there must be somthing better, there has to be somthing to look forward too. The answers arent all there, but there are many answers. If you choose to pick one and blindly follow on faith that is your decision. The myst will continue to follow me, i will run with it, never sure of what to beleive, and yet not caring. Still i suspect though, and i too hope and dream, yet i do not hold them in high regard. Remember, the myst is always there, ever waiting, ever quiet....
Faith, religion, do you believe? ideas and beleifs are covered in myst. Is there a god? The idea comforts some and also frightens some. For others, faith is not enough. In today's religion you are required to follow with true belief in the lord and no other, to beleive in another is a sin. Sins are plentiful in religion, they daunt us making us feel as though we are evil creatures and can only be considered good through good deeds and prayer. Good deeds are surely noble, helping others is a virtue, but should it be required of us? Shouldn't we get a choice? we do have a choice, and the wrong one sends us to hell for eternal torment, certainly a fair choice considering the omnipotent powers involved; at least we have a choice right? Many examples are presented ro show us that beleif in god and religion can help us accomplish many things, but is it trully religion, or just the comfort that some great power is looking over us that gives us strength. I always find it ironic when after a sports game, the star interviewed thanks god for helping his team to victory. I guess the opposing team was far too sinful for gods help, so they are abanded, judgment has been cast, destiny has ordaned that this team shall win, so sayeth the lord! What the lord so sayith so shall we do. Be as the sheep, we are but sheep in the lords presence. Not an idea that appeals to many free willed youths of today.
Good and evil, god and the devil, heaven and hell. Where one exists, the other is surely there. Good and evil are intertwined to each other. Without evil to battle, good lies still with nothing to focus on. Continuing prayer and faith begins to wear on some, questions are asked, perhaps some go against the ideals held by many in this good society. Next thing an outsider is born, seen as evil, followers are gathered, a war breaks out, one for good and one for freedom of choice. Deaths range in the millions and trillions. Of course this is an example dreamed up from my simple mind, many things may occure, but evil shall always follow good. Purity and unity is a false idea upheld by fools. To trully be one with the myst, both sides must be envoked and understood. To be fully good and pure has it's dowsides, and to be fully evil quite obviously has it's downsides as well. So which to choose? Both must exist, so why can they not coencide, perhaps life can be lived with each, always the balance even. Untill the scales tip and a war is waged, mighty and harsh, one side fighting valiently against the other. Untill the scales return to equilibrium and what passes for peace in this world is restored.
Although religion may not be for some, it very obviously can help people, examples bombard us, on television, in books, on radio. So what should you choose? Why choose anything? What is good and what is evil. Again the answers elude us, never are all the answers there, and we shall never find them. Where are the ansers? Perhaps they are within ourselves. What we feel and beleive, what our soul determines, may be found within the myst. What is a soul? Do we have one? Where can i get one? A soul is an idea held by every religion, although maybe not in the same term. A soul guarentees us everlasting life, our current body is only a shell to contain our everlasting life source. It's a nice beleif, and is easy to beleive, But does beleiving in such a concept go hand in hand with being religious? Can there be no god and yet still we are eternal? If we were created by scientific means, then how did we get this godlike gift? What the hell are we? Beleiving in one doesn't seem so easy without the other. Keep your mind open to all ideas, shuting the door can only limit your opportunities. Opportunity is knocking on your door,,, get the shot gun. We don't want any! let me be in my shell and go away.... Beleive me when i say this does not work. You are marked as a recluse, a loner. Then, you are weird, and people begin to wonder about your sanity, is there somthing wrong with you? what can be wrong with you? This is not the way. Shells can and must be broken, or the outside world will eventually crush it with you inside leaving you an empty husk. Although permanent shells are frowned upon, there is always the myst. A brief escape from reality from time to time is seen as healthy. The myst can offer that escape, all your unanswered questions, and your confused thoughts. Leave them behind, they are not welcome here. Everything must fade into a blur, nothing recognizable, nothing to intrude. Only then, when nothing else matters, when nothing else can even be recognized, can peace be found. Enter the myst, let it enshroud you, be alive for yourself.
Solitude, somthing you can certainly find within the myst, pure and absolute solitude, which is great if you want to get away from the nagging society or annoying people that keep pestering you or thinking you should do somthing, this or that, get you life together, yadda yadda. But is there too much solitude? Can it start to wear thin.. and eventually wear away at your being and state of mind, making you doudt yourself.. It seems humans need the support of other humans to acheive.. i know certain storied are famous for personal strength and glory.. and we admire them for acheiving great things on their own.. but for the most part we seem to seek praise and encouragment.. you can't say you have never felt pleased for a compliment, or felt the urge to do somthing only because others push you toward it. It is trully hard to stay alone it seems.. to be the lone wolf... but then, it could be even harder to go teh other way, to be a part of somthing.. involved and open, in a group.
Two very different kinds of people live here.. and then there are those in between, there are those that crave attention, need to be with somone or be constantly praised, they can't be alone and tend to do many things with groups.. then we have the in betweeners, who do well both ways, they need a little bit of attention, and can take a little bit of solitude, these are the majority i think, then we have the bottom feeders.. those who dont do much to get involved, who find it hard to weave into a group and talk with others. Sure you can get a long great by yourself, but will it wear on you eventually? people snap when isolated for long periods of time, this was used as torture and punishment in prisons.. and although just not hanging out with people is not quite the same as total isolation, it can wear on one. Part of human nature is to seek some form of attention, and this can be considered a weakness, as it was certainly exploited..
Most evil villians and monsters in movies and fantast are depicted as loners.. creeping through the dark, lurking in caves and basements, away from prying eyes and grining and drooling over secret insanity's and private mullings... Then we have the heroes, saviors, out among the people, cheerful and happy, talking and spreading their enthusiasm, getting involved in anything they can help at and helping anywhere they can, out among the light and people and society and thriving.. Now then.. which is more atractive, or did i just waste space asking that question. Loner today is concidered an insult, when in fact it just means somone who preferes to be alone than with others.. that right there says somthing about how people think, that if your not concidered a somebody to a few people, your concidered a nobody to many. Of course none of this is accurate, never is.. as i am just yanking thoughts randomly out of my head as i drift through the myst.. because the myst is true solitude, yet not threatening, more comforting... perhaps all that matters is that you consider yourself a somebody, then perhaps your confidence that you matter will spread and your beleif that you matter will inflict others.. people can change, always and ever, life is about change, you must adapt to the new or be left with the old and the old fades away and is lost in the distance as the new spreads forward ever exceding any desire to stop it. If you can't respect yourself, then can you respect others? or is it only envy in teh form of admiration, that you could change, and yet life is change, so you are bound to change, it is only up to you in what direction you do, and it's up to you to bring about the more desireble changes, and to moniter how much change occurs.... ultimately your destiny is your own.
After spending months away from home and supervision, and spending more time with other people of my own age group, my outlook on life has changed drastically. It seems that authority only manages to stifle your potential as a human being, it's hard to trully be yourself when you're weighted down with restrictions, either placed upon you by the law or your parental influence. Yet when you get the chance to make your own decisions and rules, one can trully be free and start to discover your true self. Friends of course always help in the process, for how can you be yourself if your not sure how to interact with others. When your unsure of what to do then it's hard to trully express yourself and others might get the wrong impression of you, they don't know what your really like, only how you seem to act, and upon these actions their opinion of you is created. As i've said before and continue to beleive, change is possible in a person, or perhaps it's not really change, only your true self finally emerging through the supressive walls of insecurness you've created for yourself; either way, if you're not happy with the way you relate to the world simply change your outlook on life, it takes time and effort but through much reflection it's possible to finally be happy with yourself. By seperating myself from my past i was able to recreate myself in a way, although i only emerged victorious over the darkness i harbored through many battles alone. Of course this is a personal recolection and very well may be a one case scenario, but it is possible to acheive ones desires, and as i've also learned, dreams can come true. A life without friends is a lonely life indeed, take it from experiance, when you shelter yourself from others you trap yourself in a hollow hole, and while you may be protected from the outside you deny yourself the experiances of life, and for what other reason are we here than to merely experiance life. So emerge and enjoy, emerse yourself in the swirling events of reality and taste the sensations it can provide. Remember always that there is a world beyond the myst, and although you may feel comfort within oblivion, you deny yourself the pleasure of trully living.
Somtimes we feel as though the world is an unfathomless pit of unlimited possibilitis. Somtimes we think the world is a blackened chared existence which we must merely survive. A persons emotional state is very much what will govern his life. Our emotions determine our actions which determine our appearance in others eyes. Since when have you gone out of your way to spend time with one who is despairing so much that the world around him seems a black void. Then one with a mood so bright comes by that they seem to lighten the area around them. Certainly ones in a merthfull mood are the most appealing, But how long do these so called moods last?
Cicumstances in life ususally help to determine your current state of mind, whether or not life is rich and pure or stale and stagnant. These are ides which do not tend to permeate the myst, and yet i dwell on them still. What makes us feel the way we do, why is it so hard to control the way we react and perform the way we wish. In one way, we are a reflection of our atmosphere, our environment. What takes place around us inadvertently effects the way we act. If this is so, and one is stuck in such a rut that he is constantly in a state of depression, that his life is a monotonous pale pallet of existance not worth concidering, how can this be changed? Perhaps one must seek a possitive atmosphere, where these dark feelings rarely enter. Of course this can be hard to come across. So many factors rest on what we concider to be a pleasurable environment. We must be appreciated and liked, involved and listened to. When it all comes down to it, the people you know and how they feel toward you will always cause the feelings you experiance.
Being alone to some may be a horrible experiance, many need to be loved and feel needed or appreciated. Others find more pleasure in solice. If you are alone, then the one person who can effect you is you, if you don't feel loved, merely love yourself. If you don't feel appreciated, begin to appreciate yourself. Of course it is not possible to live alone in this world, thusly one must learn to encoorporate this idea to any experiance. That would be ideal, but trully difficutly to achieve. There have been many references to it before, for how can you love others if you can't love yourself. Perhaps a trip into the myst is in order, to quietly reflect upon your situation. Traveling deep within yourself may reveal things you did not know were there. Of course we all feel we know ourselves as much as we can, but occasionaly we learn that this is not so. We may react in a totally uncharacteristic way.
How can one be characterized. We are all so complex in our behavior, yet we tend to be chracterized in a very limited way. Classification is the enemy of all individuality. Once you're fit into a group, you're immediatly thought of in only one way. Time is the cure for all pre assumptions about people. But first impressions create your opinion of a person, and if you assume you don't like that person, why would you ever waste the time to remedy your opinion. Time after all is precious, for when time runs out, who knows what will happen. In the end all we are left with is our life, the past becomes all there is and the future is somthing you will never know. Always though there is the present, and cirtainly we appear to be creatures of the present. After all, what takes place in the now is what we concentrate on and is what will determine our future. How can one look to the future without conentrating on the present, for the present is the path that leads to the future and no one can tell which way that path shall bend, or how many corssroads we shall encounter. Deciding on which road to take when your path splits is crucial to the future, for it leads to a whole new path which will lead to a new future and give a whole new experiance. How do we know which path to travel? We don't, which is why some succeed and some don't. But the path is always changing and there is always the chance to take a new turn, a new future is just around the bend, all you must do is take the first step.
