"Every Girl's Dream"
All I want is one thing
From a person very dear
But the way I've come
Across, isn't very clear.

I try to slyly hint at it,
Not meaning what I say.
If those words don't come out now,
I'll truly rue the day.

Just four small words to hear,
That's all it ever takes,
Waiting so apprehensively,
Before my fragile heart does break.

You hold my hand, entwined in yours,
You look me in my soul,
You hold me close to you,
Your dark eyes spark like burning coal.

Slowly down you set yourself,
On one knee, looking up,
You gaze so blankly into me,
Shall I see the half full cup?

I freeze and wait, not stirring now,
Waiting for those fateful words,
But the more I wait, the more you stay,
And my heart flutters like a wild bird.

You bring my hand up tenderly,
And kiss it with such grace,
Then with a pause, your head lifts up,
A smile widening on your face.

Sparkling eyes embrace my own,
And I know there's not to fear,
The pause you took was just figuring,
A way to make this dear.

I feel a cold sensation on my hand,
And stare down in surprise,
And what do I see there shimmering,
But a ring before my eyes.

Rounded eyes, and mouth agape,
I don't know what to do,
I state and stare uncertainly,
Wondering if it's true.

Then quickly as an eye does blink,
I'm beside you on my knees,
My arms around you, holding close,
A sobbing answer, "Yes...please!"
