101 Arguments Against Christianity,101 Cleared Up Contradictions In the Bible and As Wise As Serpents As Peaceful As Doves That last book is on the basic Christian doctrine, and explained very clearly, and with great detail. I also talk about giants and the true age of the Earth. There are two errors in it at the moment which I can't remove because my computer broke and I can't afford to fix it at the moment. That God caused evil was one error, the other is that we are only responsible for our sins because we take pleasure in them, actually it's because we freely chose to.

If you would like the correct explanation about how to be forgiven of your sins click here: How to Get to Heaven. The most important thing to know is that when God forgives you, you are forgiven for your future sins (just as Jesus died for people who weren't even born yet, people who lived in the future, and sinned in the future.) Why does that matter? First of all it's the truth, the truth matters. Second, if you believe that you have sins left over so to speak, then people get the idea that they must obey God to stay saved from ending up in Hell, or other nonsense which Scripture actually says will work against you. Why will it work against you? Because Scripture teaches that God sees our deeds as filthy, as sinful, BEFORE we are given eternal life and forgiven. So any attempt to work for it, or maintain it after you get it is futile and useless. Remember this too, once you are saved God puts his Spirit in you and works in you to do good, so you don't simply because forgiven and then do whatever you want, you are under God's control (to a degree.)

Scripture says we are no longer under the law once we are saved, but rather under God's control and that we WILL obey him out of love, not sit down and do nothing or do whatever we want. Now if you aren't obeying God out of love, but rather to get eternal life, be assured, you might not be saved or have eternal life. I would ask for forgiveness with the correct mindset to be sure that I had eternal life, if I discovered I understood salvation wrong.

Those are not my teachings, but Scripture's. So you cannot say that they are my opinions.

About being too serious. Ever get a "you're too serious" comment? Would you like to know how to respond to that? This is how:

By "too serious" a person means that you are either making something more important an issue over another than it should be, or that you are always talking about subjects that have to do with survival, obedience and disobedience to God, or which are not funny. Obviously it would be odd to always be talking about serious subjects, and a person should rest from that and "relax" so to speak, but a person should ALWAYS be serious about subjects that are serious, and always resist sin. Sin is a constant problem and should always be taken seriously, but that doesn't mean you can't rest, make a joke, laugh, smile, or relax.

Often people will say you are being too serious as an excuse to not deal with the problem that was brought up to them which they should take more seriously or serious period. Another misunderstanding people have is that you shouldn't be serious all the time, as if it were an emotion on top of it. But actually seriousness is an attitude, and one should always be serious about what is serious, you should never stop being serious about not sinning and pleasing God, BUT that doesn't mean you can't have fun at the same time. Many people mistakenly think to be a Christian means to always be serious (to lack any joy or happiness or for it to be squashed by being serious all the time), but that isn't right, there is nothing in the Bible that says you can't get on a roller coaster or swim in a pool or play games or drink a little wine. Some people will complain and say, "But you can't ever curse or look at porn," as if that is a big trade off for eternal life in paradise on Earth and Heaven, seeing God's face, and being surrounded by an ever growing population of beautiful men, women, angels, and animals. God is not boring, he's made so many planets, stars, and galaxies that no one has been able to count them all, and we are still far from being able to colonize the Earth entirely and use up all its resources. Surely when God renews the universe we will be able to colonize the universe, and that obviously will not be boring.
