The Magna Carta was created when King John was in control. King John was
abusing the people when he was ruling and so he was forced to sign the Magna
Carta. The Magna Carta basically put restraints on the kings that ruled. It was
the first written document that had a law against the king written by the people.
It also put the law above the king so that the king couldn't do anything he
wanted.
