Journal #1
1.  What were the underlying causes of WWI?
Tangled alliances and angry people.

2.  What was the specific cause of WWI?
When Frederick got shot.

3.  How did the soldiers react as they went off to war? Why?
They were excited at first because it was just a big adventure to begin with and they really wanted to go but then when they got there and saw the truth they weren't so excited. This happpened because of the lies that the older generation were telling them about how heroic it was and that you have to go to become a man.
