One of the things that Greeks strongly believe in is that they do not have control over their lives. They feel they have a fate which is controlled by the gods versus free will, or personal choices that create one�s fate. Unlike the Greeks I feel everyone has a free will and they shape and form their future with the choices they make. If there is a fate then everything a person does wrong and is punished for is not really rightfully punished because they couldn�t go against fate. It�s also like having a murderer killing someone and asking the jury not to punish them because it was his fate. To me, that doesn�t sound correct because it was the murderer�s own choice and free will to murder. Another thing about free will is when I decide on doing something I make a decision on whether to do it or not. In my opinion if we had a fate we would be like human zombies walking around with no decisions to make and we would be doing the same thing over and over again. |
