First thing Saturday morning, Robin insisted on wearing the Blue Gingham Dress. Maybe it was my imagination, but I'm sure I saw a smile spread across her face the moment I slipped it over her head.

All month long she has been wearing her hair in pigtails. She wont let me take them out. I even have to hold them in place while I change the color of the band.

I told her she looks like 'Pippy Longstocking'. But she doesnt know who that is.

Robin is so happy to be wearing the Blue Gingham dress, all day long she dances a jig while the other children look on.

Except at lunch time, when she got a tiny spot of mustard on her collar while she was eating her hot dog. She got very upset and said the dress was ruined, and threw a tuntrum.

She didnt even care that her underpants were showing! Emily tried to comfort her, but there was nothing we could do until she calmed down.

After we dried her tears, we dabbed some cold water on the spot and took out most of the stain. You could hardly see it at all. I told her we would put the dress in the wash that night. But when bedtime came, she said she wasnt ready to part with the dress just quite yet. So that night Robin went to bed with her hair still in pig tails and wearing the Blue Gingham Dress.
