Commentary:
"Banja" is the oldest mare in the Myrtlewood broodmare band, but her personality doesn't express her age in the least. Around the barn, she will playfully nip like a yearling and under saddle she enjoys an occasional buck or two. Unraced, she was trained to dressage and is so far excelling in that subject. Suprisingly, considering her age, Banja has never been bred. We would like her to possibly produce up to four foals while she is still alive if there are no difficult births. The main reason Banja Drone stands out though, is her excellant pedigree. She is sired by the reknown sire Drone, whom only earned $12,825, but later proved to be a better stallion siring 52 black type stakes winners. Banja Luka was 1987 Broodmare of the Year as the dam of $3,777,978 earner and Kentucky Derby/Breeder's Cup Classic winner Ferdinand.

Previous Owner's Comments: 'Awe' is a very well bred Thoroughbred mare. She has been used mostly as a broodmare but when I purchased her she did have 540 points from Equine and Canine Fancy, sadly there was not a complete show record to go with the points so we have started her again with a clean slate. She has a great temperment and is a wonderful mother who produces foals that can really run!
