Appropriate or "Appy" is he is affectionately called is new to the barn, but from the looks of it-he has the makings of a top steeplechaser. His sire, Dark Crystal is a promising show stallion owned by Lyonesse Ltd. Dark Crystal, we hope, has passed on his beautiful jumping talent to his son. AP Jewel, Appy's dam is sired by the great HOTY A.P Indy whom earned $2,979,815 in flat racing and won at distances of 12 Furlongs. Northern Emerald, Appy's granddam through AP Jewel gave Appy his love of the turf, winning the grade I Flower Bowl Invitational. Appy will start his chasing career within weeks and someday his lanky, chestnut body will be reknown in 'chasing.
