The finger holes begin 5 and 1/2" from the node and the holes are 1 and 1/4" from each other. Cut a mouth hole 3/8" in diameter about 2" from the node that closes the end of the reed. The mouth hole should be a clean cut with the edges of where the hole meets the surface of the reed not rounded. The other end of the reed should be open.
The flute is quick to make, sounds good and is a lot of fun to play.
