Lizzie
Empty Shell
by Lizzie

The burning sensation of rage
is new to my soul
The blaze of anger's fire
destroys the heart he stole.
A sun once lit with glory
is darkened with unforgivable lies
The stars that once brought joy
have disappeared from the skies.
The waterfall of rushing emotion
has disappeared with the dam of hate
The waves that rippled with love
never reached the shores of fate.
The words once sweet like honey
are too bitter now to savor
A heart now crushed and shattered
once flourished in his favor.
The path I walked in confidence
Has found its cruel demise
The map that led to its treasure
disintegrated with my cries.
All hopes and dreams forgotten
like the taste of wine we shared
Eternal destruction surrounds me.
Nothing has been spared.
Every possession I rendered to him
his mirage was my reward
My existence was relinquished
with the love I once adored.
He strolls through his injustice unscathed
the cross of this evil I bear
He's clad in his garment of myth
while Death's cloak is what I wear.
My soul once thriving with life
plunged to the depths of hell
My body once tingling in pleasure
is now but an empty shell.
