Alternate realities? Alternate timelines? Alternate alternates?! HELP!
So you've been to High Voltage Studios. You've seen the pictures, you've read the stories, you've marveled at the insanity of it all...And perhaps noticed something...familiar.
No, it's not your imagination, those really are the same characters used here at Reel Life. Only...changed a little.
And that's where the confusion comes from.
Okay, I'll attempt to clarify this.
In the course of writing fanfiction for the Darkwing Duck fandom, I created quite a few orginal characters. Let's take Edison, for example.
Believe it or not, Edison Galvin Ohms was not always Edison Galvin Ohms. At one time, he was Edison Galvin Sputterspark. Which does not have nearly as cool an acronym.
Heh heh heh. Figure it out yourself.
However, in the course of making Edison completely mine with no copyright infringement, his last name had to change. Why? Because "Sputterspark" is the last name of a copyrighted cartoon character. Specifically, the cartoon character who was supposed to be Edison's father. So that name had to go, as did Eddy's dad.
So "Sputterspark" was changed to "Ohms," and a new (original) character was created to fill the role of "Eddy's dad." And that character is Dr. Elmo Ohms.
Hooray.
In the Darkwing Duck fandom, Dr. Elmo Ohms does not exist. But the copyrighted cartoon character does. Edison Ohms does not exist in the DWD fandom, but Edison Sputterspark does.
Does that make sense?
