Gun Sabre is another of my original concept customs. I really like the Tomy Saber Tiger kit and wanted to build a custom that made it truly intimidating. I had just received my first CP-15 and it just screamed with custom potential. And the Gun Sabre is the result of a couple weeks of work.
This custom started out as a Hasbro Zaber Fang kit, combined with a CP-02 Flight Pack and some CP-15 Assault Gatling Units. After some fiddling and trial and error fitting parts on my Tomy Saber Tiger, I had my plan mapped out in my head. The paint job is a combination of flat gray body and dark blue accents. The claws, fangs, tubes and cannons are painted steel. Also, I left the caps the unpainted gray, as it fit with the paint scheme I was going for. The CP-02 is mounted in the normal position, with the only modification being the removal of the mortar pod. In it's place, I cemented a CP-15 rocket box. Then I used 3 gatling cannons from the CP-15 and mounted 2 on the sides of the CP-02 and 1 on the back, facing the rear. The coil springs were added after lots of touch-ups, the Gun Sabre was finished.
The story behind the Gun Sabre is this. The Gun Sabre is the personal Zoid of a mercenary leader (think Stinger from the anime) and carries no markings or identifiable designations.
