A DREAM COME TRUEria
(continued from Part 1)
She followed him as they weaved their way through the hallways. Finally
coming to a stop outside of the eraser room. He opened the door for her,
muttering "Ladies first" before the chaos ensued. The eraser room was
occupied. Max, after realizing who it was, shut it quickly.
"I did NOT need to see my sister doing that," he said, thoroughly freaked
out.
"Yeah, and it didn't really look all that comfortable, either, I mean how
did she...." Maria trailed off when she saw the look on his face. "Ok,
shutting up now, but I'm still mad at you."
Max walked down the hall and looked through the door of a classroom, making
sure it was empty, he then motioned Maria to enter the room.
Unbeknownst to her, she said on the same desk that Michael had occupied an
hour ago.
"I know, but I have a way to make it up to you," he said. He walked up to
where she was sitting and put his hands on either side of her. "What if I
told you, I could make your dreams come true." She looked confused for a
moment, then the light bulb went off and she smiled widely. Before she knew
what she was doing, she had thrown her arms around Max and kissed him full
on the lips. She then began dancing around the room. When she turned back
to Max, she was amused to see that his face was a lovely shade of scarlet.
"So," she asked, "when do we do it?"
He looked at her as if she had gone insane. 'What's his problem, it's not
as if I suggested...' then she laughed. "I mean, make my dream come true,
Max," she explained.
"Of course," he said, but he had turned almost purple by now. He cleared
his throat, he was thinking about the weather forecast he had heard in the
car. "Tonight, it's got to be tonight."
A little before midnight, Max climbed into Maria's window to put their plan
into effect. Across town, Michael was climbing through another window, much
to the chagrin of the owner. "Michael," Liz yelled as she saw, with a
sinking feeling in her stomach, "why are you here again? I thought I made my
feelings perfectly clear."
"Liz," he said, kneeling down before her and taking note cards out of his
pocket, "I just need an hour, one hour, to explain why we should be
together. If you don't love me after that, I swear I'll leave you alone."
"Fine," she said, as she attempted to scoot her chair a little further away.
Michael took out his notes and began to tell Liz all of the ways that he
loved her. "I love you..."
"What?" Alex said, as he tried to disengage his limbs from Isabel and make
sure his ears were not deceiving him.
"I think that you heard me," Isabel said, while getting her hair out of her
face. "When I saw you with Vickey, I wanted her dead..." she said.
"Yeah, I got that much," he said, while pulling himself up from the floor
and sitting against his bed. "But, this new development, when did it
occur?"
"Alex," Isabel said, as she stretched out on her side and looked at him,
"Remember what I said about talking earlier?"
"Yes m'am," he said, and then crawled over to where she was waiting for him.
"Are you sure that this is going to work," Maria asked as she and Max sat,
side by side, on her bed.
"No," he said, honestly, "but it's worth a shot. I mean, I KNOW that it's
wrong, what we're about to do. But it feels so right. She just so
ANNOYING. I mean 'what do we do now, max?' I wanted to throw her off the
damn cliff."
"Tell me about it. I mean, I wasn't even there and I can imagine. So,
we're really going to do it?" she asked.
"Yeah," Max said. "Lie down." Maria complied and Max laid down next to
her. He propped himself on his elbow and looked down at her. "You
ready," he asked.
"As I'll ever be," she said, and then closed her eyes. With Max's help, she
was able to fall asleep within minutes. When Max was sure she was asleep,
he put his hand gently on his head and was instantly transported into her
mind.
He was in the park. Alone. And it was snowing. "Like it," came a voice
from behind him. It was Maria. "I guess it worked," she said. "Now, how
do we get her here," she said while shivering. Max put his arm around her.
"It's your dream," he said, "just think of her and she should appear."
The words were no sooner out of his mouth, when Tess magically can walking
down the street.
She was dressed, if you could even call it that, in a pair of hot pants and
a tube top. She was eating an Cherry Italian ice. Maria stared at her, then
at a metal pole. Instantly, the pole turned into a huge Cherry Italian Ice.
Tess squealed with delight, dropped the one she was holding in her hand, and
scurried over the pole. She opened her mouth and licked the pole,
instantly becoming adhered to it.
On Maria's right side, Max began chuckling. "Oh wait," she said, "it gets
better."
Max noticed that there was a crowd of about thirty individuals walking in
their direction. They seemed to be mostly short women, and two men, one
which towered over the rest of the group. He also noticed that they all
appeared to have rocks in their hands. He started
to look for a place to duck behind but Maria stopped him, "They're with me."
"Who are they?" he asked.
"They're the ATL. They do my dirty work for me."
"The ATL?"
"Anti-Tess League. They are the ones, in my dreams, that usually kill Tess.
They're cool. See the tall, redhead, that's MD. The tall guy, that's
Rick, he's barking mad. The other guy is Scott. The girl with the Texas
accent is Bette...."
"Wait," Max interrupted, "you named these people?"
"Of course not," she said, "I didn't name them, those are just their names."
The mob approached Tess. It was hard to determine who threw the first
stone, but it hardly seemed to matter. Tess was attached to the pole and
rock after rock hit her. Max noticed that new rocks kept appearing in the
hands of the members of the ATL. It was over after a few minutes. The
smiled at Max and Maria and then waved.
Max then noticed a jet parked in the park. It had "ATL - We're just right"
emblazoned on the side. As the ATL walked away, Maria turned to Max and
asked, "This is real, right? She's dead, they'll get the jet and all of
it's contents, right?"
"If my theory about the heatwave is right, yeah," he said.
Maria looked after them and Max watched as Kyle miraculously appeared. Two
of the ATL immediately ran over to him and a tug of war began. Maria
laughed and then another Kyle appeared. "Thanks Maria," yelled one of the
members.
"WELCOME," she yelled back. "That's one fight that I wouldn't want to see.
I think that Laura vs. Denise would be very scary. Notice how I say Laura,
not Lahhhrie."
"Oh god, don't," Max said as he shuddered. When he blinked again, he was
awake in Maria's bed. He looked at her window, which had a thermometer
attached to it and noticed that it read 80. He smiled and went to wake
Maria up.
Across town, Michael shook his head forcibly. What was he doing in Liz's
room? And why was he kneeling? In a flash, the last few days came back to
him. He groaned and put his face in his hands. "Michael," came Liz's
voice, "are you better now?"
"I will be, if this is yet another thing that can stay between you and me,"
he looked up at her hopefully.
"No problem," she said, and then helped him up off of the floor.
Alex felt Isabel stiffen up in his arms. "What? Is something wrong?" he
asked.
She looked up at him, deciding for herself if anything was wrong. "Nope,
but we're talking again." He smiled.
The
End.
OK, sorry for leaving most people out but I just wanted the thing to get done.
