Ladina Alovine

"Oh pleeeease?..." the girls both chimed at the same time to their parents. They had been asking them to go to live with Aunt Sagena for months. When Aunt Sagena would come to visit they would hear her stories and long to be part of her adventures. Their parents didn't want them to leave but pressing matters within their own kingdom had left them with little time for their children. One day, after Ladina's tenth birthday, they finally agreed. With reluctant hearts, they sent their little girls off to live with Aunt Sagena.
Aunt Sagena was glad to have them. Their merry laughter could be heard through the castle at all hours. Shortly after Regina's fifteenth birthday they began helping out around the castle. They would do anything from gathering wood to delivering messages. One day the girls were out mining, collecting needed ore for guild business when they were attacked by a group of orcs. While trying to defend their packhorse, the girls both were badly injured. Kynbo arrived just in time; he pulled the girls through the gate.
The girls cried over their lost pack horse as their wounds were dressed at the castle. Aunt Sagena was quite upset over the matter and declared that neither of the girls would ever go mining again.
Ladina's duties after the incident with the orcs included harvesting wood and making arrows. She would always go to Aunt Sagena saying, "But Auntieeee, making arrows is soooo boring." She would come in after a day of fletching and follow Aunt Sagena around asking her if she could do something else.
Ladina would sometimes go to her sister and try to get her to play but she was always too busy with her fancy stuff. Finally Sagena couldn't take her whining and constantly being underfoot. She agreed to allow her to collect bones. Ladina cheerfully went about her task of killing shadow wisps for bones but soon got bored with that. She began wandering and soon found herself in a room full of harpies.
She thought to herself, 'These aren't so hard.' So everyday before she would go collect bones she would stop at the harpies nest for some practice. One day as she battled a harpy she backed up into someone.
Ladina turned around and stood mesmerized for a minute. There stood the most handsome knight she has ever seen. He fought off four harpies at one time without even breaking a sweat. After he dispatched the last harpy he turned and greeted her. He introduced himself only as Croaker and he called her lady which made Ladina giggle.
Recognizing his skill as great enough to be in the Alliance Knighthood, Ladina began telling him about the Queens knights. Even though she herself could not be a Knight, she knew this man would be perfect. She took the Grand Duke to meet him then Knight Lester and finally the Knights Council. Shortly after meeting these people and visiting the castle hew was initiated into the guild as a knight.
That was Ladinas dream, to be a knight. But she was told time and time again that she had to be nice to people, regardless of how they acted themselves. This proved to be a bit of a challenge for Ladina. She continued to go to the harpies nest to catch glimpses of Croaker who proved to be a good influence. Long after the knight Ladina worshipped and introduced to the queen was initiated, she too was sworn in as a knight.
Holding her sword high... she charged into battle... any battle...
