Son of Sam
![]() Songs From the Earth (2001 Nitro) BAND: davey havok (vocals) - todd youth (guitar) - london may (drums) - steve zing (bass) TRACKLIST: of power - stray - evernight - in the hills - songs from the earth - satiate - of man - michael - purevil - invocation REVIEW: At first glance, this seems like a definite supergroup. I mean, you got Davey from AFI, Todd Youth from Danzig, Steve Zing of Samhain, and London May of Samhain and Tiger Army. Then as an added bonus, you get Glenn Danzig himself lending some guitar work to a few songs. Unfortunately, the songs get incredibly boring after a while. The vocals are not unlike AFI, and the music is not unlike the older Danzig groups, pretty straight forward death rock/punk, but it adds up to something that just seems to get old. There is a pretty creepy organ in the mix, I don't know. It just dosesn't grab me like I expected it to. Maybe it sounds too forced. |
