One 21
![]() When the Dragon is Finally Laid to Rest (1997 Facedown) BAND: TRACKLIST: morality - venit victimarius - vicit (he came, he died, he conquered) - break down the walls - going home - dragon - ship rock disaster - street of philadelphia - righteousness - city violence - hardcore - accident - been selling out - everybody has it - we gotta get out of this place - don't be afraid REVIEW: I'm pretty sure this is their debut album, but again I can't find any information on this band. This is a much faster album than "One 21", but it still retains the streetpunk sound, almost like a faster version of some slower Bouncing Souls songs. All of the songs here race through at breakneck speed. I haven't grown tired of listening to this yet, it's very refreshing to hear new (new to me, at least) streetpunk that is as real and as fast as the streets themselves. Great album. ![]() One 21 (2000 Facedown) BAND: TRACKLIST: runaway - nothing to lose - pacified - smells like death - looking out for me - good guys wear white hats and so do bad guys - building better bombs - we'll meet again - have we eyes to see - peculiar nation - shelter - made in america - r.i.p. basement records REVIEW: Unfortunately I cannot find any information on this band, and their website dosen't work either. I do know that they are from Philadelphia, and they play a rocking brand of streetpunk. Songs like 'Runaway' and 'We'll Meet Again' are straight ahead oi-sounding hardcore songs, whereas songs like 'Smells Like Death' and 'Peculiar Nation' owe more to the Clash than anyone else. The song 'Building Better Bombs' is an acoustic homage to the problems of the modern world. It's not too much up my alley, but it does show that they can do more than just rock out. One 21 sounds like they could be a streetpunk band from the UK, and that's fine with me. Music thats raw sounds more real to me anyway. If your a fan of bands like Dropkick Murphys and Madcap etc., you'll like this. |
