REVIEW:
This is an album made up of all of Green Day's b-sides and compilation tracks, with the exception of the excellent 'J.A.R.', but since it's on their greatest hits we'll let it slide. There are some pretty good covers on here, most notably their version of the Kinks 'Tired of Waiting' and the Ramones 'Outsider'. A bunch of other reviews I read on this album were all like "that instrumental 'Espionage' is really great...cool spy music". Well, I'll be the first to tell you that it just sounds like a bad Living End cover. Except the Living End would never put a hideous horn section in their songs, as appears in this instrumental. The new song 'Ha Ha You're Dead' is pretty decent, it finishes up with one of those cool 'punk sing-a-long' deals. Can't go wrong with one of those. I heard this was a deal that they had could get out of their Reprise contract with 2 more albums, turning out to be 'International Superhits' and this one. So now they'll probably just sign with Fat Wreck and turn themselves into a band with the classic Fat Wreck sound. Then they'll change their name to No Green For a Day. Hopefully not.
