Soul Mate

She approached me, a heart so pure,
still young, so blind, and immature.
She offered then, her heart to hold,
what thoughts surpassed, my heart she stole.

I teased and mocked, lied then cursed,
focused regret, my love once purched.
Perception's grown, I understand,
you caved to chance, and loves demands.

My treterous ways, and devious eyes,
stailness of night, soft muffled cries.
resisted at best, the fear inside,
to let her close, to run and hide.

She then spoke with, the girl I liked,
"Give him a chance, one day, one night."
Her heart and soul, she spoke so true.
yet now my thoughts, reside on you.

For that mistake, I've made my choice,
I won't forget to use my voice.
To speak amongst, the world I know,
repair the tears, of hearts once torn.

I don't deserve a second chance,
at any heart, or true romance.
That's my story, and price I pay,
my soul mates love, I turned away.
