To Share what was happened in Phuket Thailand during the seaquake, TSUTAMI please read below
On 26th December I was in Phuket. Around 08:00hrs I felt my bed shaking in my room. At 09:00hrs, I went to get my breakfast in the restaurant. Around 09:30hrs I saw people running away from something on the road near the pataong beach. Mainly tourists were shouting/yelling and and running while they were looking to theirs back. At the same time I heard a big 'BANG' and then all the people in the restaurant start panicking and jumping across the tables etc. Initially when I heard the sound I thought that it might be a terrorist attack (because of the big BANG sound). At that time I have realized that, if this will be the case you felt like that you don't have any power to resist and understand that you are exposed in danger and might be helpless. After 2 minutes, I have reached the reception to understand what was happened, suddenly I saw hundreds of people near the hotel panicking and runnig away from something. When I had reached the front side of the hotel I saw a big wave and flodded cars, people , chairs etc. etc. It was a terrible event to see. Now I had realized what had happened and start also runnig. Since front side of the hotel was flooded, I decide to take the back door of the Hotel. Unfortunately, this metal door was locked/jammed. The Hotel security made several attempts to open it. Inbetween the crowd, I found my self outside the Hotel and start again running at least for 5 km.While running I saw people hundreds of people running up to the hills. After hours running in the sunny hot wheater,I was able to stop a motorcycle driver and had asked him to bring me to the airport. I paid him 2000 Thai BAHT and we drove direction of the airport. Once arrived in the airport we were not able to enter the airport due to flooding of the airport. After a while we forced to leave the airport since there will be a second big wave heading to Phuket! I went back to the Phuket center in order to rent a car so that I could drove away. Since there are two bridges connecting the Phuket Island to mainland, I could leave this place by car. I could not find any rental cars, all cars not available to rent due to the event. Finally I went back to the airport in the evening and the flights were behind schedule recovered. I took the evening flight back to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and the following day I flew back to my residential place, Brunei.
