| Nalgene is a widely used and trusted product around the world. � But just in recent years people have begun to buy them like they are a necessity. � They are very much a necessity in any activity of any kind. � But if you don't believe me, I'm going to prove why these water bottles are one of a kind. � � � Nalgene history dates back to 1949 when some crazy scientists were tinkering with some plastics, hence; a Nalgene container.� That's when it all started.� After many years of improving the product we are in the year 2001 with the most popular water bottle in the world!!!� I personally recommend this water bottle for rock climbing because it is super light and SUPER durable. � I can say this because the creator of this site and myself went rock climbing in Wyoming on a Saturday morning and, of course, we had our nalgenes. After we did our first pitch we need to get some gear up from the bottom of the wall and because of the placement of the rock, the rope wouldn't just fall to the bottom. � So trusting my Nalgene as I do, I tied it to the end of the rope and tossed it off the edge of�a 100 ft pitch; jagged rocks waiting for it at the bottom. � A couple seconds later I heard a �BING!� at the bottom of the pitch and the water bottle had landed. � Unharmed and still holding its 32 FL. OZ of clean H2O!!!!!! I was so stoked. � But even that wasn't the real test. � After this incredible feat performed by my Nalgene I wanted to do a little science experiment so I tossed it off the ledge thinking �well that's the end of my precious water bottle." To my disbelief I saw it take a 30 ft. bounce in the air and end with a loud �schmack!!!�. Of course it came back unharmed�with just a couplescratches on it. � It was the most incredible thing I've ever seen!!!� I've always heard that Nalgenes are so tough that they can be shot with a 22 caliber rifle, run over by a semi-truck, and every other possible extreme amount of stress that can be put on an object. But now after personal experience with these water bottles I think they can do even more than that! � Also after some research in the www.nalgene-outdoor.com store I've discovered that these water bottles can withstand temperatures down to -211 degrees F., and up to 275 degrees F. � Temperatures that the human body itself wouldn't be compatible with!!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!� Another little unfinished experiment that I've performed is weight applied to a Nalgene. � A standard round wide mouth Nalgene can withstand at least 155 lbs. of vertical weight. � To conduct this experiment, I stood on my Nalgene not holding up myself with anything else, and my Nalgene was still intact. � � � After research and much personal experience I've decided that a Nalgene water bottle is famous rather than a fad. � Congratulations Nalgene; you have a wonderful product.
