Why is it that he is depicated as the picture of evil? Yeah, you've already heard me complain about that, but think about it. I'm not saying that it's the way everything is done. I've seen fan fiction that agreed more with my thoughts. Generally, however, people have him as nothing but a 2-d leader. There's nothing to him in these. One sees plots, one sees schemes, but never depth. Often, he's out to get pikachu only, though it is a trivialk manner. At the same time, hes' portrayed as commanding and unemotional.
Giovanni is a more complex character than that. His basic personality trait is not 'evil.' According to him, there is no 'evil'. What we define as evil is natural to him... almost.
At one time, he was a normal kid with a fairly normal family. His mother left when he was young to set up Team Rocket, though none of his family knew of it. Along with his brother, he attended Viridian High, a normal student.
After school, he married Ashley Ketchum. They had two children, and were living happily... Until Giovanni's mother made an appearance.
She offered him a job to work for the Rockets. Not just any job, the opportunity to take over as Boss. At first he solidly refused, but the offers of power seemed too much, and eventually, he gave.
Unknown to Ashley, he began work with the Rockets. Maria put him through tests, to 'make sure he was fit.' These left him stressed and unresponsive to family matters... unfortunately. One day, Ashley took their son and left.
This tortured Giovanni throughout his life, even after he took over as Boss. He never loses his love for her, though many wouldn't believe it.
Upon obtaining the job as Boss, Giovanni realized a horrifying fact. He found that he was questioning everything. He found that there was more to life than power. He found that his sanity was crumbling.
As he continues, the thoughts grow more complex. He questions, yet he perseveres, never giving in to the thoughts that plauge him...
