National record to WAC sprinter

Watson's Athletic Club (wac) athletes yesterday turned in some impressive performances in winning two bronze medals on the opening day of the Thailand track and field championships in almost 40-degree Celsius temperatures.
WAC's top sprinter Li Vai Kun had a particularly good run in the men's 400 meters final.
He crosses the line in a time of 48.07 seconds to set a Hong Kong Amateur Athletics Association record.
Li finished third behind Sri Lankan sprinter Sugath Thilakaratne,who took the gold medal with a time of 47.11.
Li's effort was against strong opposition from Malaysia,Thailand and Sri Lanka.
All were tuninig up for this summer's Olympic Games in Atlanta with outings at the Thailand National Stadium.
