Lesson 4- Writing with joy
Good day, I am convinced that you are interested in writing; you have reached this far
in your study, your perseverance is a good sign that you will become a writer. There are
writers who believe that writing is an agony, in a simple way of saying it, it’s an extreme
mental or physical suffering. Gene Fowler said and I quote “ writing is sitting down and
staring at a blank paper, until drops of blood will come from your forehead ” of course,
it is just an analogical declaration, blood will not really come out literally, he was
only expressing that writing is not something you can easily acquire, and therefore, you
cannot write with joy. Well, I guess it is not true, you can write with joy. It is just a
personal choice. Others say, you have to experience what you want to write to be effective;
I don’t buy that idea, Shakespeare was neither a king nor a fool, not a moor or a jew; He
never saw a real fairy in his lifetime, yet he could write tragedy, comedy, and all other
subjects. In brief, you can write anything with joy without experiencing bad things in life.
Treat yourself more as a researcher, and after getting as much information as you can on
the subject, try to express it in writing, the best you can.
