Dear Renante:

Our Selection Committee has certified your poem as a semi-finalist in our International Poem Contest, automatically - it will be entered into a final competition to be held on October 2001. You have a chance of winning one of 104 cash or gift prizes including the USD 1,000.00 grand prizes or USD 10,000.00 annual grand prizes.

For a part time job that earns 1,400 pesos only per month, there was a need for me to look for other income generating sources, realizing that writing might give me a chance, i joined that competition.

So much for that, i want to be a writer because i want to be a writer. I want to write a situation which typically depicts human nature, relationships with other people, just like a movie scene that torn out my heart and cause tears to shed. I want to write movie scenes that are going to preserve any culture, like chinese movies. I want to be a writer so i can write things that can give us sense of values that can boost morality. Through writing, i would be able to do things i can't do in real life; for instance, building castles in the air, but perhaps an idea that could help us tackle the harsh reality of life.
