Table Decorations
Even if you don't have a lot of money to spend on your dinner event , you can still set a beautiful table . A nicely decorated table helps to set the mood and adds a touch of elegance . Most of the things you need to decorate you probably have at home. Other items can be cheaply purchased at dollar stores , thrift stores and yard sales . A lady in our group suggested each lady host a table and be responsible for all decorations . So I've come up with a few ideas for themed table decorations .

Pearls and Lace
Put a silky , satiny feeling tablecloth on the table . Be sure it has a vibrant color . Place a lace tablecloth over top of this one so that the color shows through the lace pattern . Use a glass vase to hold simple roses and buds , someone may even have some of these in their garden . Use unique looking glasses as votive candle holders . Mismatched wine or juice glasses are perfect . Use pearl beads to drape around the table . You can also place loose beads in the flower vases and candle holders .Use an elegant patterned dinnerware . If you don't have any , ask around your congregation , someone may have a set you could use .

Days Gone By
You can do any era for this table . Just use the appropriate items . The one I'll list here is from the days of the pioneers . Use a red checked tablecloth . Put flowers in an old Mason jar . Good flowers to use for this table would be sweet william , irises , peonies , old fashioned roses even buttercups and clover . You can use the smaller canning jars for candle holders or I suggest using an oil lamp . Use enamel dinnerware . This can usually be found in the camping section of Walmart . If you have any campers in your church , they may have some you can use .

Growing in Grace
This is a garden themed table . Use a green tablecloth . Use a flowerpot (with any flower in it) or old teacups with violets or pansies as your center piece . Place seed packets around the table . You can also find mini gardening tools at the dollar stores . These look great as table accents . Gardening gloves are good accents too . Use a flower patterned dinnerware .
Table Favors For Your Guest : Packets of seeds . Use the ones from the stores or print some from the net . Put them all into a mini flower pot and make a twine or raffia bow around it . You can find some seed packets here :

Sugar and Spice
Use a tan tablecloth . Instead of using a flower centerpiece use a spice scented candle ,like cinnamon , pumpkin or maple sugar . Use vanilla candles , they will be the "sugar" , in different spots on the table . If you can , use the candles in the canning jar holders (available at Food CIty for $1) if not , buy some of the small canning jars (jelly jars) and put votives in them .Place sugar canisters and spice bottles in groups on the table . You can even use an apron and rolling pin . The idea is for the ladies to be reminded of how the kitchen smells in the Fall when they bake pies . Use white dinnerware if you can .
