KHYRON PRIME'S
A HISTORY OF ALIEN RACES AND THE PLANET EARTH
by Adam Schiller
THE ZENTRAEDI
Sixty feet tall; capable of lifting two-thousand kilograms like a feather; and above all else, a race that was aware of nothing but war prior to contact with humanity.

As the first alien race to contact humans, the Zentraedi have been the subject of the most research and debate within the galactic periods, and while their history as warriors garners the most attention, it is only through a thorough analysis of their history as servants that one can gain a true insight into the people of this giant race.

Born of service on Tirol, the third moon of the planet Fantoma, the Zentraedi were initially intended to be nothing more than servants (some would say,
slaves) for their creators, the Robotech Masters. From their births in Tirol's cloning chambers, these people, typically ranging in height from fifty to sixty feet, were laborers of the state, their solid bodily form designed to withstand the harsh conditions present to this day on the aforementioned gaseous planet, Fantoma. With bicepts that rival and of today's machinery, the Zentraedi would pull ore from the grounds of the planet, their faithful deliveries of it necessary to their creators for galactic conquest.

As the Masters' saw this, they realised that, for all practical purposes, the Zentraedi themselves would prove superior in every way to their own abilities in hand-to-hand combat. With this in mind, the cloning processes were drastically rapidised in fitting with the creation of an entire army of giant warriors. And so, the Zentraedi were presented with a new job: As conquistadors.

However, at this point in history, the Robotech Masters were split as to the righteousness of this cause, as well as to the strength of their own warriors' abilities. (This will be presented in full as the histories of
the Robotech Masters and the Marduk are chronicled.)

Over the course of the next several millenia, the Zentraedi were the dominant military force in their section of the galaxy--from planet to planet, they were able to conquer with their massive size (both physically and in sheer numbers, the cloning chambers on Tirol always ready to create more of the race) and come to be rulers. In their programmed bloodthirstiness (no doubt an inclusion of their creation) the Zentraedi found no need to rule or control their conquered domains, and as such, simply would leave one battle to join another.

What would become the last mission of pre-culture Zentraedi was the duty to seek and reclaim a lost super dimensional fortress that had flown from their masters' homeworld. The army initially led by the famed commander, Breetai, was the first to track the ship to the planet Earth. And much to Breetai's suprise (as well as most of the estimated one trillion Zentraedi soldiers to take part in this war, later named
Space War I), this planet had something very foreign to him, something very desireable.

The cultureless Zentraedi, met with the existence of such ideas as peace, music, and above all, love, would come to desire the culture on a level so high that the end of Space War I was marked by a combined human/Zentraedi attack upon the Zentraedi race's own flagship. This marked the beginning of a history in which humanity welcomed Zentraedi, and the aliens were excited to accept.

Today, most Zentraedi have assumed a form as micronians, genetically restructuring their bodies to the size of other races. This purpose, it seems, is popular as it provides many more an experience to the Zentraedi, and most are born and live their entire lives at normal size, without fear or cause to seek battle. It has been said, however, that some Zentraedi feel 'urges'--shocks from their body's genetic makeup--that inclines them to battle. While this may seem dangerous, through regular exercise programs, these battle-made aliens live amongst us as brothers, and should there ever be a question, we can consider the many steps that the Zentraedi took in order to join us.
