Initially I drew all of my designs by hand. I have been often told that I was talented in art. Yet, for me drawing airplanes was not art, it was a way of conceptualizing my ideas. The problem I had was that my sketches were not detailed or sufficient enough to get an idea whether all of the proportions are correct or whether all of the components truly fit together. It also made it difficult and tedius to construct models based on the design. So, I took up an interest for AutoCAD. I had seen my father using AutoCAD for quite some time, but I myself had never used it before. Nevertheless, one day I decided to experiment with it. At the time I was interested in cars that are frugal with resources after having seen a TLC Junkward Wars episode about them. This was the first drawing I ever did alone on AutoCAD. It was a simple top view drawing because I was not yet aware of any of the complex comands. The only comands I knew were those I had seen my father use. The rest I learned I taught myself and later taught my father. I learned to use 3-d commands and shading. With the additional knowledge my designs began to become more and more complex. The designs I have featured here are to give an idea of the progress I have made in my designs from my first drawing, the simple car, to more later and complex designs. |
