Bloemfontein

Originally inhabited by Stone Age people, is today the capital of the Free State, the judical capital of South Africa
and is named Bloemfontein.  Also known as the "City of Roses", because of the 4000 rose bushes planted
in the King Park.

Loch Logan Waterfront situated in the centre
of Bloemfontein. A very big tourist attraction,
that offers restaurants, pubs and shopping for
all ages.
 

The modern theatre, called "Sand Du Plessis."  The ultra modern glass "Civic Centre"
was inaugurated in 1992 and boasts
modern conference facilities.



 
GOLDEN GATE 
 
The radiant sandstone cliffs, namely Golden Gate.  The profile of a sandstone cliff, rugged and scarred
by erosion through the ages!

 
 
Weathered sandstone bastions and stately
golden poplars in the mountainous countryside. 
Golden Gate is situated in the north-eastern sector
of the Free State.
