It's situated on the eastern side of the country and is well known for it's spectacular scenery, wildlife & historical interest. The Mpumalanga Gold Rush, Jock of the Bushveld, old ivory hunters, poachers & highway men put it on the map.

NELSPRUIT - MAJOR CENTRE OF MPUMALANGA

 
Nelspruit is the base for all activity in the area. Also the centre of the Citrus, Avocado, Mango & Pawpaw industries.
Mpumalanga is devided into 4 areas:

HIGHVELD & COSMOS
Farming is a crucial industry here, with maize, beef, mutton, sunflower seed, sorghum, etc.

LOWVELD
This is the land of the dry scrub & long, scratching grasses. Also an important mining district.

ESCARPMENT
This is a place of legends, of secrets and of hidden gold mines. It takes the visitor to the Long Tom Pass, the Blyde River Canyon, waterfalls & other natural surroundings.

GRASS & WETLANDS
This is a large area of hilly to mountainous grasslands with many wetlands.
