| "Fear Thou Not" |
| Not Forgotten I was very recently reminded of the horrific details as I did the research for this commissioned piece. I almost didn't complete it The images so powerfully devestating. I could not bring myself to portray such a horrific image without some sense of hope. I could not find a way to do this. Then the Lord got my attention. I had just opened a new bank accout around the same time I was cmmissioned to come up with something featuring the Twin Towers and 09/11/2001. A few days later I recieved the pre selected pin # for my check card in the mail it was: "2001". I thought "What a coincidence". I continued to struggle with the asignment frustrated and unable to complete the work I decided to call and cancel the order. That very day I recieved my bank card in the mail. The last four didgets of my card were "0911" with a "Dove" flying up from the top of the two ones. I was sticken hard. I stood crying and shaking. It was no coincidence. I knew immediatly what I had to do. I few weeks later I decided to name the work. I thought of "Fear Not" or "Be Not Affraid" Looking in my Bible Concordance I decided on "Fear Thou Not". I decided to read the whole verse in context. Looking it up I was stuned again to see the mention of the right hand of God. A hand from heaven was only put in so the Dove would not look as if it were flying upaway from the buildings in fear to no place in particular. |
