Yap Hup Kee's Hakka Yong Tau Foo and Ipoh Chee Cheong Fun, Jalan Brunei Barat, Pudu
This place specialises in Hakka Yong Tow Foo and Ipoh CCF. It's near Shaw Parade, just around those printing shops and paper distribution companies that congregate there for some reason. The 'yong liew's are all fried or boiled on the spot and the variety is astounding. You have stuffed fried fu chuk, tow foo, bitter gourd, lady's fingers, brinjals and the usual fishballs, meatballs etc. All these 'yong liew's are home-made, which means the meat is all authentic fish paste.So if you want top-notch chee cheong fun and Class-A yong tow foo, Yap Hup Kee is the place to be. The bill may be a bit steep for a coffee shop, but it's worth it.
