Allen
Allen is the hero of the story, or rather anti-hero. He lacks valor, honor, and many of the other things a good hero radiate. He is a poor student, often drifting off to sleep and daydreaming in class. However, what Allen lacks in heroic potential, he makes up for with courage and determination. Orphaned as a child when his parents died in a car accident, he lives with his grandfather, who owns an antique store. While looking through old junk in the antique store, Allen finds an old book, and leafing through it, is engulfed in a strange glow. Visions of battling armies of angels and demons fill his head, and then he blacks out. Upon waking up a month and a half later in a hospital bed, Allen discovers that the glow has imbued him with strange powers.
