| There are two Star Trek relationships that this song makes me think of, both from Voyager: The first is Tuvok and his wife, T'Pel. Because of the Vulcan mating situation, being away from your lover is particularly bad. The other is Chakotay and his memory-erasing girlfriend, Kellin. Her species produced a pheromone which blocked the long-term memory receptors in other species, and then her tracer planted very sophisticated viruses in their computers so that there was no trace of them ever having existed. Chakotay ended up writing down his experience with her in pencil because that was the only thing she couldn't erase. | ![]() I didn't hear you leave, I wonder how am I still here. I don't want to move a thing, it might change my memory. Oh I am what I am, I do what I want, but I can't hide I won't go, I won't sleep, I can't breathe until you're resting here with me I won't leave, I can't hide, I cannot be until you're resting here with me I don't want to call my friends, they might wake me from this dream I don't want to leave this bed, and risk forgetting all that's been Oh I am what I am, I do what I want, but I can't hide I won't go, I won't sleep, I can't breathe until you're resting here with me I won't leave, I can't hide, I cannot be until you're resting here with me ~Dido |
