Yeah,
I've been
everywhere.
My real name is Chris, but a fair number of my associates call me tumor, after a poo brown ford econoline van that I used to ramble in. I am 25 years young. I've lived in Canada all my life, both in the city (Calgary and Victoria) and in other less conspicuous places (Invermere, BC). I have been an active songwriter from the age of 14, and I have three albums to my credit, with two more on the go. I attended the same high school for 12 years just outside of Okotoks, AB - I figure this is probably where my pastoral appreciation comes from. I enrolled in Aviation training after High School, and eventually flunked out after two years...inexperience, I guess... During this time I released my first album, "That Guy Is Me" under the name The Casual Observer. My two fans loved it. Anyway, I moved to Victoria and finished a BA in English Literature, which left me with virtually no marketable skills for the cut-throat job market. I did, however, manage a second record release, "Country Gumption", which was widely received by my friends and family (as well as Zeke, the bike courier/drug dealer, who said "you're a real strange cookie, my friend). After University I moved back to Calgary where, after a string of factory jobs and disappointment, I moved to the tiny town of Invermere, BC. I cleaned rooms at the local ski hill and worked as a front-end-loader operator. Finally I settled into working the local liquor store. Invermere was a revelation, mostly because the town is saturated with talent. The music I made there is top-notch, culminating in the release of my third album, "Nocturnal Valley Seduction". I left Invermere at the end of the summer 03' and embarked on a 3-month sojourn into Central America, where I traveled from Panama through Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Belize. Lots of song ideas. Fuck. LOTS. I currently live in Calgary where I am blissfully unemployed. The imagery in my music is typically either nature-based or political. I write a lot about living in an existentialist vacuum and about trying to get along in this post-modern world of ours. To date, I have played several venues, most notably the t-bar at panorama mountain village and the mushroom stump saloon in Invermere, bc. With two additional albums on the go, and things looking up, I look forward to fame and fortune. yeah right. I just wanna survive!
