Jim was born on Valentines Day 1974 in Yuma Arizona. I was scared about being a single mom, his Dad decided early he wasn`t ready to be a Dad, so it was just Jim & I, we did everything together, we moved back to Ohio to be with my family. In 1977 I had twins Danny & Dawn, Jim wasn`t to impressed with having not only one sibling but two, but he was a good big brother, when he was old enough he played baseball, me & the twins went to every game. As the kids got older they had their moments but all in all they were good kids & stuck by each other & me. Jim grew to be a caring gentle & a very charming young man, kids of any age & adults of any age they all loved him no matter who he was with they had a good time laughing, talking or playing. Jim started working at 14, things weren`t always easy for us & he felt the need to help, he didn`t have to he just did. In between his working after school & his chores at home he played Baseball & Football, he was very good at both, but in H. S. he decided Football was his game, we watched many a football game in the rain & cold. Jim lived in my garage apartment with his Rottwieller Zues, boy what a pair, when Jim came into the house to eat or just hang around & mess with me so did Zues, mind you now were talking about 2 very large things hanging around my very small kitchen waiting for something to eat, he would get what they wanted & go to the dining room to eat, both of them, Zues right at Jim`s feet. Jim & I had a good relationship, we always talked, he would come up to my room, sometimes we would talk or just watch TV till the wee hours of the morning knowing we had to get up for work, we`d go for rides in his little car an 83 Mazda RX 7 he loved that car, him & Zues would go for rides too only he`d take the front seat out for him cuz he was so big, when I would get in Jim would forget to bolt it back down so you can imagine the kind of ride I`d take rocking all over the front seat we`d just laugh & go on our way. Jim would bring flowers (sometimes from other peoples garden) for no reason at all, he`d come into the house & ask for "Parental Advice" as he would call it, he was something else. Then one nite he didn`t come into the house, his sister Dawn said she hadn`t seen him all day but that wasn`t unusual, she knocked on his door but he didn`t answer, the music was louder than usual so I told her to get a knife & we`d pry his lock I`d seen him do it when he`d lock his keys in there, He was home, lying in his bed, I knew the minute I opened the door he was gone, he looked so peaceful, he had been gone about 5 hours, I don`t remember to much after that except that was & always will be the worst nite of my life. Jim died of a Cocaine Overdose. Jimmy I Love & Miss you more than life it self, my life will never be the same. |
